Hobart just finished their football season 9-2. A very good HS lacrosse player from Hun, Grant Hansen, who’s brother went to UMD, won MCP of the game. Hope he pulls a reverse Jamie Breslin/Kevin DeWall as I could see him behind a fine D middie if not more. There’s a FR QB from
Colorado who was an excellent lacrosse player, AA I believe, named Jonny Colombi, whom I’m hoping comes out as well.
Blue Jays cruise past Salisbury(#12) 45-20 in first round D3 football tournament!
Yes nice win. Some questioned Hopkins admission into tourney as non AQ as Muhlenberg cruised to CC title and also had a blowout first rd win.
Was this posted on the Hopkins thread at all or just here for any particular reason?

JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. (WBNG) - Johnson City midfielder Cade Dino has officially signed his letter of intent to play lacrosse at the NCAA Division 1 level for the Hobart Statesmen.
Dino was one of the best players in the Southern Tier last year in what was his junior season. He scored 62 goals, along with 32 assists for a total of 94 points. Not only that, but Dino won 84% of his faceoffs. For his efforts, Dino was named a high school all-American at the end of the 2021 season.
The midfielder selected Hobart over a few other programs. Dino says Hobart was the complete package, and that’s why he chose it over his other options.
“I’d say it was a combination of things. Their coaches are great guys. The players are great guys,” said Dino. “They preach a lot of what I like. There’s a family atmosphere, and their campus, I fell in love with it. They have great academics so overall it was the combination of all those things.”

Dino can add to his already illustrious high school career this spring, where he’ll play his senior season with the Wildcats.

Love those 607 guys...but, what NLI did he sign? Were we able to add scholarships when I was sleeping?

Probably the same one Ben reeves did…
Still pretty rare AA as Jr. love kids that can play two ways and excel at FOs, even in HS. Still think we have some real upside w Mitrow if he can stay healthy for same reason.

Wasn’t meant to be but have to wonder how different 2020 might’ve been if we could’ve kept Holden and Scott around. More of our fifth years are coming back and utilizing. This new master program now. Bunch of Football players have already committed to it (QB, two WRs maybe others not sure)

This commitment speaks highly of what his family thinks about the program Coach Raymond is running and about Hobart itself.
It’s good after missing out on some notable younger brothers recently such as Michael Lampert and Lance Madonna

Love IL's "consistency" in ranking/awards stars to players. Nick Sotiropoulus received ranking/scores of 87 at one IL sponsored event and another IL covered, yet receives no stars. While players with lower evaluations receive 4 stars. I know rankings/evaluations are not science. But come on... have a modicum of consistency please.

Those rankings are all BS...I enjoy reading IL's recruiting event reports, total hogwash and birdcage material. If the kid is going ACC or Ivy, they're automatically 4/5 stars. Football is the same; amazing how many guys played at mid-majors or even 1AA and turn out to be HOF guys(Michael Strahan, Jerry Rice).
I know Hobart doesn’t have a ton of those ranked kids this decade since they whiffed so badly on ours in 2013 (Opsahl, Graham and Miller) but was thinking we’d see Holden in there given he was a 2x AA, state champ, ESPN Mr Boston coming from a competitive area. Archer was in there probably on the strength of his fathers name as well as the CNY co POY but probably wasn’t much of a difference in what the two did in HS in these days equally competitive areas.

Only 12 games. Preseason should be a very good tune-up for the regular season. Great to see Lehigh back on the schedule. Away against Colgate (Fri, 2/25) Cornell (Tues 3/1) and Syracuse (Sun 3/6) just before the NEC season opens is a tough gauntlet. Barring injuries' (fingers crossed) the team should be as ready as possible for league play.
