Lafayette has had one winning season, 8-6 in 2010, since 1985 which is difficult to fathom given their location.

From what I have been told by alumni, there is not a lot of support of athletics from the Administation. Anyone know if it ia fully funded for lax?

No inside knowledge but I'd be surprised if its funded at all as far as scholarships. Lafayette was featured in a WSJ article a few weekends ago about admissions and how ability to pay is a big factor in who they admit. small enrollment- even smaller than Bucknell. Really a D3 school playing up. My opinion only of course.

No results so far.
But the past two classes have been good, I think.
Their freshman face off man of last season was a
top ranked faceoff man.
This class coming in, quite a few three star
recruits, I think this one may be the best of them,
40 LINUS DECK
CLASS Freshman
POSITION M
HEIGHT 6-2
WEIGHT 210
HOMETOWN Ontario, Canada
HIGH SCHOOL Upper Canada College/
The Hill School
So, three good classes in a row, I’m keeping my
eye on Lafayette this year and next, to see if this
new strategy works.

Be healthy for them and the sport .Their 21' record may not reflect underlying progress. Depends on who Myers schedules .

PLL has several competitive teams as is and then Myers scheduled PSU,UNC , Gtown and Rutgers in 2020 instead of NJIT, Wagner, Manhattan etc

Give him credit for trying to raise their profile but not going to be competitive in those games at this stage .

If program is truly improving then might give Colgate a game this year.

Lots of good young players
What happened to juniors and seniors like Andrew Robbins?

Program has gotten terrible under Myers. He brought six of his players in his first year, 24 players his second year and 20 players in this year. If you were not his player no matter how good you are you will not play. They gave him a whole lacrosse staff and last year he tried to raise their SOS. It was a disaster. This year they were beat by Vmi, Fairfield and Drexel. Program will have its second winless season in two years. Up until last year they always won at least one game but under Meyers they will be winless back to back. How do you recruit to the worst record in division one. You have to feel terrible for the players caught up in this mess

Why don’t you wait a year, see what happens next
year,

these last two classes were pretty good,

but,
Covid,

limited out of conference games,
hamstrung teams like Lafayette,

why don’t you wait until at least the end of
next year ?

The other thing,
look at the last few overall classes, BU, Army, Navy,
Lehigh all have top top incoming classes, Navy had the
top incoming freshman class this year.

If you know anyone who played at U Penn during his last stint or know anyone who has played at Lafayette since hie has been there you would think differently. How many times have you seen a school give a coach 24 and then 20 players and have worst results than ever before. They are now the worst team in the country. The patriot league was terrible this year with the exception of army, Navy, Lehigh and even Loyola was off. There are high school teams that can beat Lafayette and that falls on the head coach.

As of this morning Lafayette is ranked 64 out of 66 teams and the worst team Vmi beat them. Program is beyond repair and the players deserve better

Hi ALL, Rutgers fan here. I have been following college lacrosse for almost 50 years. Actually, though not really germain to this conversation,I almost attended Lafayette to play soccer in 1970. The only Lafayette game that I have ever seen was your second game against 6th ranked Lehigh the other day. In my opinion, in that game, Lafayette looked like the better team. Lehigh, if you remove their faceoff man, is in no way the 6th best team in the country and it is not even up for debate. Their faceoff guy won 23-27 faceoffs. Lafayette should have won. If this game was not an abberation, LafAYETTE is headed in the right direction.

Head coach must have paid you to feel that way. First Lehigh is a very good team beating top 20 opponents. Lafayette lost to the worst team in lacrosse Vmi. Over 50 years you should have learned good teams sometimes play down to bad teams. Also it is very suspicious this was the only game you ever saw of Lafayette and you came to that conclusion. Maybe you should talk to the players who are on the team to know how bad it is.

My read of what he's really saying is "Rutgers should be ranked higher than Lehigh."

Probably. Think he is saying it’s MD #1, RUT #2 and then way down is everyone else. Guess Army’s 3 game win streak vs Rut tells you weak the PL really is. Especially that barn burner last year.
