No Hopkins for Dan Chemotti. He has Richmond rolling. I believe that the Spiders are going to take the next step and start winning postseason games soon.

Spiders have a lot coming back next year. Would not be surprised to see them in top ten

The next 2-3 yrs are going to be an arms race for transfer/grad talent. Top 10 parity is going to be paused.

I'd expect the ACC/BiG/Big East to increase their grip on the Top 10.

By the way, I truly believe that Richmond is one of the better DI programs who has yet to win a First Round game in the postseason. I like to think that changes, and maybe sooner than many people think.

2021 NCAA LACROSSE PREVIEW: NO. 17 RICHMOND (MEN)

NO. 17 RICHMOND
2020 RECORD: 4-3
PRE-COVID RANKING: NR

Richmond sophomore Richie Connell will never forget the day he announced his official arrival as a Division I attackman.

On Feb. 8, 2020, the lanky, 6-foot-5 Connell surely made quite an impression on visiting fourth-ranked Maryland. To Richmond  coach Dan Chemotti, Connell merely affirmed what had become the obvious to his staff and his team during the previous fall lacrosse season.

By coming off the bench and igniting Richmond with a hat trick he’d achieved by the middle of the first half, Connell helped the Spiders get in position to pull off arguably the biggest upset in their program’s eight-year NCAA history.

That didn’t happen, as Richmond squandered an 11-7 lead after three quarters then fell in double overtime 14-13. But Connell loudly happened... [more]

Really interested to see how Richmond bounces back against UNC this weekend. Two main things I am looking at in Richmond this weekend is to see how a couple of players that were really built up based off of a handful of games from last year that did not do much against Loyola, and their Face off. That did not go real well last game.

Well, lets be blunt here. Faceoffs are killing this team. The two main kids just are not going to cut it and I am extremely surprised we have not seen the the Popovich kid. Is he hurt?

Otherwise I think they compete against anyone. I'm sure they will win some games, but will be very difficult to win against good teams with the first two faceoff guys they have. Wish them luck as I thought they could be one of the teams coming into the season that is not one of those blue blood teams that could make some noise, but now not so much.

I think it's a little early to draw that conclusion about FOs. While it's been a challenge in recent years I'll give it more than 2 games. Hamilton started strong last year before an injury ended his season. Plus the new FO rule is a work in progress for everyone. Certainly, they need to be closer to 50% against very good teams to win. Fortunately, they have an excellent D that will always keep them in it. Although UNC had ample scoring at midfield, the starting Attack unit only scored 2 goals. And as I recall one of the Attack is Chris Gray who had 13 goals and 21 points in 3 games prior. That is lost in the story because the Spiders didn't win. The back end of the Spider D and Goalie are very solid.

I would agree with everything you said except for Hamilton. he had a couple decent moments last year, but also had not so good moments. This year has been really bad so far for him and the other kid.

Richmond def looks like they are continually man down against Duke’s offense.

Not sure why Duke ran their first lines all the way to the end. Especially considering how many on their roster.

Richmond beat Duke a few years back(in Durham) and celebrated like it was 1999...I know Dino was not happy about that, even though Chemotti is a Duke grad and it was the biggest win in RIchmond's young lax history.
