Heading into State playoffs next week, Weddington has to be the odds-on favorite to win it all this year. Have barely broken a sweat so far.

They're likely on a collision course with Gibbons in the Finals.

Gibbons best W is over a pretty good East Chapel Hill and they crushed them. From where I'm sitting, Gibbons is untested. i hope their better than I'm thinking so Weddington will get tested.

Not sure about the "Wow" or the FanLax rankings. Latin beat Hough FanLax #3 NC 20-8 last week. Latin was 3-0 with a 10+ goal differential in every game.

Latin's midfield line goes Amherst-Denver-Denver plus a D1 attacker. Not the hype of Weddington, but not too shabby.

FanLax rankings need some work.

I think https://laxnumbers.com/ratings.php?y=2021&v=4064 was pretty good prior to tonight.

The "Wow" is because Latin has only played 3 games (Weddington has played 12, Charlotte Catholic 12, NW Guilford 12, etc.), their best wins weren't such amazing Ws (though Lake Norman is a pretty good one and they won handily), and... Weddington was winning a lot and against good teams. With what Weddington was doing vs. what Latin was doing before tonight, that W was a Wow.

Definitely a good win for Latin, but it appears a pretty important injury may have had some influence in the final result.

HS GIRLS: NC – Wed. 03/10/21

Playoffs will be interesting this year. No first round byes. 8 automatic qualifiers and 8 Wildcards in each of the East and West. The WCs will be randomly drawn in each region. Could be some first round upsets. Brackets come out on Sunday.

Myers Park held their own on the draw and played really disciplined defense. Held the 4 goal lead for the last 8:00 of the game.
