The crazy week continues as Myers Park beats Charlotte Latin 14-10 on the road.

Wow. Love it. And not surprised at all.

Wow again? What is the Wow this time?

High School games are defined by athletes/skill, attitude, effort, energy, fo/dc, and hot goalies. S happens (including injuries), they are hs kids. This season is only predictable by who you don't play and by those who play 6 games in 10 days.

NC hs lax is really easy to figure out this year. It's not a mystery, especially on the girl's side. 4 teams can win it and that's it. 3 West/1 east.

The crazy thing is that Marvin Ridge girls aren't going to make the tourney.

Not only that but the comments on a NC hs lax board happen while 2 great Wow college games are going on? And while the UNC wlax game gets postponed due to Rona?

Duke is out of the basketball tourney so all is well no matter what...

That is correct. Was watching UVA-UNC while following SU-ND and chatting within those 2 threads as well as this one.

Some people can't do anything even remotely related to sports without competing, without fighting, without "winning". (This is *much* worse on Facebook than here.) bottom-line, some discussions, even discussions about sports, don't involve winning, don't benefit from hyper-competitiveness. But, for some, everything (related to sports) is an argument. And... Whatever. like water off a duck's back.

Just don't think game by game, in-game analysis of hs games and/or non-computerized hs rankings is necessary or productive. If you want Back of the Cage type action then go for it.

Prelim brackets are out and Marvin Ridge is out like I said earlier in the week.

Increased quantity does not lead to increased quality. The same thing applies to the boys' side and the privates. This season was a joke from the start thanks to the NCHSAA.

I'll go back to the college boards now.

As I understand it, the top 8 in the East and West are automatic qualifiers from conference champions. The remaining 8 are wildcards based on conference winning percentages. This year, the wildcards are placed randomly to fill out the bracket. That's why Charlotte Catholic, for example is listed as a 15 seed - it's purely random, there is really no seeding. The only restriction in the first round matchups is they tried to avoid same conference matchups.

First round of playoffs in the books. Results about as expected. Weddington, Catholic and Myers Park all cruised in the West. Same with Gibbons and East CH in the East.
