I wouldn't really view a Queens win over Lynn as an upset. Haven't they been above Lynn in the pre-season polls? I think US Lax Mag had them Top 10.

USILA coaches poll does not have them even receiving votes...

Queens now ranked 14 by USILA. Pre-season snub must have been an oversight.

Weird -- You're correct, but hard to understand a 2019 playoff team not receiving a single vote in the coaches' poll,
Nike/US Lacrosse had them at 9, and Inside Lacrosse at 12.

I saw over on the D3 ODAC page that "Lynchburg dominated Limestone" in a scrimmage.
Was anyone there?

Not there, but there was a three way scrimmage Limestone/Mars Hill/Lynchburg on Saturday. (I had other responsibilities that kept me from seeing that one).

It is really hard to read too much into a scrimmage - because each coach has a certain goal for a scrimmage which can range from tweaking the starting lineup and therefore expecting top performance as a team to getting younger future players on the field to see how they do against top opposition.

Having said that - top end of D2 is in my humble opinion just about equal to the top end of D3. But since the NCAA rules about eligibility and how rankings are calculated make in division play primary, you only get to see top teams across divisions in scrimmages.

Now there is a lot of people who would disagree with me - and in the past, there were some significant differences. But the ability of D2 schools to attract some good talent (especially from Canada, where the athletic/academic money combination can be persuasive) I think has lessened the difference, and I think at the top pretty much erased (say top 4 D2 vs top 4 D3).

I'm not saying that I practice what I preach but... There's no such thing as an upset this early in the season. e.g. Air Force beating Duke wasn't an upset. It was the first game for both of them in 2020 and... AF beat Duke, is better than Duke, etc. No upset. (For now...) Anyway, Queens-Lynn. But, for what it's worth, Queens beating Lynn is the Best Win thus far this season. :)

Who cares.

I watched Mercyhurst "beat" both Canisius and RIT last weekend. Don't think any of the coaches cared. All 3 teams were rotating a ton of guys and seemed to just let the kids play. No adjustments, no scout, just teams running their offenses and defenses. Heck, at one point the RIT and Mercyhurst coaches were standing in the box telling jokes. I didn't think it meant Mercyhurst was superior than either team.

I thought scrimmages were supposed to be to see where your team was at in the preseason and fix problems.

Westminster (RV*) 12, Rockhurst (#13) 17
Florida Southern (RV) 18, Molloy 8

*Receiving votes in poll, but not in top 20

Was at Saints game - no contest as it was 13-3 at end of first quarter, and 20-5 at halftime. Larson Sundown had 6 goals and 1 assist in the first quarter, and that was about all he played. Newcomers Taz DeLaney and Grant Rodgers had hat tricks for the Saints as well. Six Saints combined for 32-39 on FO.

LMC is slowly improving, but had a short roster list and some injury issues with little rest available.
