Biggest surprise of the Victor win over Brother Rice was how poorly Victor started. The 1stQ was a bevy of turnovers and lost face offs mostly from procedure calls. Victor improved a little in the middle quarters then finally got into their rhythm in the final stanza. They probably could have scored more but did a good job of killing off the final three minutes. Blue Devils defense was very strong throughout. Rice did a nice job of swarming to the ball, but once the Victor turnovers started to dry up, so did their offensive opportunities.

Some real nice looking games tomorrow 4/30. Corning, B'ville, & CBA are all undefeated.

Hamburg @Thomas 1:00
Corning @Canandaigua 2:00
Baldwinsville @Victor 3:30
Pittsford @CBA 5:00

Weather is warming up, sun should be shining! Let 'em play Zebras!

We're into the final stretch here. Most impressive overall records has Victor sitting at 14-0 while IQ sits at 13-1. Pal-Mac currently 12-1. And what happened to Brighton? 2-10 really? Locals probably clamoring to bring back the Barons nickname.

My predictions
A Fairport
B Victor
C Pal Mac over Wayne in OT
D Penn Yan always dangerous this time of year. Young team that has lost to some pretty stout opponents!

Hey now!

Quarterfinal games worth noting,

In A - Hilton/RH should be a 4 quarter battle. Played to OT once already.

In B - Victor begins it's climb back to the top, 2019 seems so long ago. Cdga/SPort and Thomas/Penfield both should be tight. Anyone think IQ is just a little bit nervous about their game w Brighton? Should be a good test of their 14-2 record.

In C - Not much to see in quarters. Maybe Newark puts up a small fight for a bit but not expecting much.

In D - Most interesting story in D is where Penn Yan is at? This isn't your father's PY team of past but their tough schedule always prepares them for sectionals. A couple of confidence building games in the quarters and semis should put the beatdown Thomas recently gave them in the rear view mirror. Haverling probably looking for revenge against AQ but that's a tough hill to climb, and AQ shouldn't look past this game.

Aquinas bests Haverling. Penn Yan 19-0 at halftime over Gananda. Second half as always PYA plays catch in running time.

Cdga skirts by by the skin of their teeth tonight in OT. Certainly wasn't an example of the 'fastest game on two feet'. Credit to S'Port for fighting back and taking the late lead as the Braves, who were in total control, seemed content to snooze thru the 4Q. But, they awoke just in time for a beauty of a goal w 2 sec left. Credit also to the Cdga FO guy for getting the job done tonight.

IQ passes their test vs Brighton tonight but playing Thomas next may be like sitting down for a trigonometry exam. Good luck! :P

I didn't have anything to do with the decision, just passing on the information so people don't get turned away.

Cdga Victor was a nail biter! Hot start for the Braves, built a 5-1 lead before Victor chipped away for the tie at end of 3Q. Both defenses were stingy and the Victor shooters were off mark frequently. Both teams were equally sloppy at times in the 2H as well. Cdga couldn't put them away and Victor couldn't pull even in the 4th. Blue Devils last chance to tie with seconds left, from about 7-9 yards, just missed. The FO battle was about equal, but I'd say the Braves GK was clearly the stronger of the two today. Great win for Cdga today.

Did not stay for the IQ-Thomas game but very surprised by that outcome. Looks like a classic old school matchup of the Braves and the Indians for the Block.
