Interesting discussion, but not sure what it has to do with Texas Lacrosse. Going into this weekends games I think this is still pretty fair estimate:

As for kids going out of state to boarding school, haven’t see it too much, but would take a very serious commitment from a kid around lacrosse to give up your family and friends to go play lacrosse out East full time

Don’t know how many kids have that focus and goals

Happens all the time with kids from non hotbeds and hot beds wanting to play at a higher level and go to one of the most prestigious schools in the Country. Many of the top D1 teams place kids at Deerfield, Exeter, Andover, Lawrenceville, Taft, Choate, etc, etc for a PG year before matriculating. They get excellent coaching, top academics, play top competition and play in the best facilities. The Top Boarding Schools in New England are very tough to beat academically and have huge endowments to fund college Level coaches & athletic facilities. Agree, it's not for everyone but an incredible opportunity for those fortunate enough to get the opportunity and it's a lot more than just about lacrosse.

The schools Ten schools Admissions Organization, along with a few others (like Groton) are generally considered the top academic schools. Ranked by acceptance rate those schools are
Exeter - 10%
Andover-13%
Lawrenceville- 15%
St. Paul’s - 16%
Hotchkiss - 16%
Choate - 16%
Deerfield - 17%
Loomis - 18%
Taft - 19%
Hill School - 32%

Of these schools, deerfield, Lawrenceville and Taft are at the top lacrosse wise, with Loomis, choate, and Hotchkiss a step (or half step) below.

What type of turf is lacrosse played on in the area? Woodlands? Dallas ? Etc. Thanks. I’m in Baltimore just a question. Most fields - grass ? Sport turf?

It is a mix, but probably biased toward grass at public schools (where it is a club sport and they aren't allocated space on the football field) and turf at the privates, unless they have a lacrosse/soccer dedicated field, in which case those are usually grass.

Pretty much all central texas games are on turf. Every Dallas game we have played has been on turf.

We will be in the Dallas area from December 20ish to January 2nd. We would love to get our daughter, 2027, some practices in or even a chance to pass with a few girls to keep up on her stick work. If anyone has any suggestions, we would love to hear them.

Based on my college friends who went to Taft 25-30 or so years ago, I can’t believe they’re acceptance rate is that low unless my friends had more money than I realized.

Quite a few kids looking to increase their visibility, play a higher level of competition and develop under top coaches at schools with huge endowments. and top academics. Look at the rosters at Maryland, Duke, Virginia, Georgetown, Ivys, UNC, etc, etc. for many of those "kids with focus and goals" you don't know.

Look at the rosters at Maryland, Duke, Virginia, Georgetown, Ivys, UNC, etc, etc. for many of those "kids with focus and goals" you don't know.
