This could've been shot yesterday only in color at a food bank anywhere in America.

But lets stay locked down like this:

The democrat governor of Maine pulled the liquor license of a restauranteur who opened despite her lock down order.

The county he operated in had 17 total cases of coronavirus and ZERO deaths

Florida’s population is about 22 million. That is 9 million more than Pennsylvania and Illinois, and 15 million more than Massachusetts. Yet those smaller states have 57,000, 78,000 and 78,000 positive cases, 1 respectively, as of Sunday. Florida is nearing 40,000. The most important number, deaths, is even more surprising. Pennsylvania: 3,700 people have died of Covid-19. Massachusetts: almost 5,000. Illinois: around 3,400. And Florida? Fewer than 1,800. Let me repeat that. In the nation’s third most populous state, fewer than 1,800 people have died of Covid-19. That is .008% of the population. That is extraordinary.

"When you look at our demographics, we should have been the most devastated state of all,” said Charles Lockwood, a scientist who heads the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida.

So glad I live here and not anywhere else.
Petey -- do people in Florida think their better than expected results have something to do with the heat/humidity thing? Seems like something is going on there beyond the awesome Ronnie D. : )

In addition to heat/humidity, perhaps because Florida overall is more suburban than urban? People spend more time outside in a warmer climate? Even though it has tons of seniors, maybe the seniors in FL are wealthier retirees and so generally live in better places?

Serious question.

The Coronavirus "whistleblower" is represented by Debra Katz—Christine Blasy Fords lawyer.

Naaaaahhhhhhh there's no agenda here.

If you need brain surgery, you go to a doctor who does a lot of brain surgeries, right?

If you are a government whistleblower, wouldn't you want to hire a lawyer who represents a lot of government whistleblowers?

Recognized as "Civil Rights Lawyer of the Year" for Washington, D.C. by The Best Lawyers© In America for 2018, as one of the “toughest” employment lawyers in Washington, D.C. by Washingtonian magazine, and as an expert in sexual harassment, employment, and whistleblower law by The New York Times, The Washington Post, TIME magazine and others, Debra S. Katz has been successfully litigating employment discrimination, civil rights, and whistleblower protection cases for over 35 years.

You want this guy to hire a real estate lawyer instead?

It is a specialty.

Of course there is an agenda - to get the best representation possible. Sign of intelligence.

Michigan barber trying to open up—against Michigan governors orders—had his business license pulled when local law enforcement declined enforcing her cease and desist order.

They threatened the barber with a thousand dollar fine and a year in jail for EACH hair cut. Sorta like sending scores of armed FBI agents to Roger Stones home at 4 am.

It appears a waste of time anyway. The death totals are inflated and the number infected is exponentially greater.

Fauci said students might feel safest if there was a vaccine for coronavirus — but it's a "bridge too far" to think a vaccine or treatment will be ready by the time classes start this fall.

Faucci also says Even though more than 100 potential vaccines are under development, “there’s no guarantee that the vaccine is actually going to be effective.

Compare us to the 5 largest governments in Europe to have an equivalent population to the US similar land mass and freedom of societal norms. We have fewer than half the number of deaths.

Tell us all again how we've failed.
Which 5 countries do you want us to focus on, that actually have a land mass equivalent to the US ?
He didn't say just land mass -- you did.
Rather than split hairs on land mass, the following western European countries have higher mortality rates than the US -
Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, UK & Sweden.
no splitting hairs, I just wondered which 5 countries of Europe he thought had a land mass, as well as population, equivalent to the US.

Now, if you want to compare Germany and New York State and normalize their land mass and population, that'd be an interesting comparison, right?

I agree with all of this except this "Covid-19 kills less than 1% of those infected."

We have no clue how many people are infected, and won't until we have testing. This is an educated guess, and nothing more. And the other part of the equation the people seem to forget when comparing it to the common flu is: how many Americans get the flu each year? Will that number be the same with Covid if Americans go about their business?

American culture can't handle a pandemic, obviously. Full Stop.

Let Darwin sort it out, I guess. And hope that we don't have a ton of health care professionals don't die because of American stubbornness.

American culture has handled a pandemic. We're changing quite markedly as we post here. Curbside pickup, delivery becoming the norm. People working from home, entirely. Businesses choosing to shutter and limit servfices to help slow the spread. Lots of people wearing masks. 2 months in seclusion for most- and counting!

Never would have believed those changes occurred 4 months ago.

Without trying to be too cold-hearted, unfortunately, I'm sure health professions get the flu each year, and some may die due to stubbornness too.I'ts a shame, really. but I chose the job field I'm in. As did you, afan. We all knew the risks associated.
