The jury showed him the same amount of compassion he showed George Floyd.
I have yet to hear one cop say anything on his behalf. Most importantly, no one who served with him.

If he had testified, I think that would have opened the door to being cross-examined on his prior incidents of misconduct. That would have been the nail in the coffin.

In general population in prison the murdering cop would not live for 10 minutes. We will protect him because as Americans we are better people. As a law enforcement officer that is what we expected of this cop.
