Re: Maryland 2021
Makar vs Kavanagh will be just as fun
Re: Maryland 2021
Definitely the "game inside the game" match-ups.
Having seen Bernhardt in person several times this season, he is on a mission in a way that reminds me of Ryan Conrad two years ago. I don't know if Kavanagh has learned extra gear yet, as evidenced in the Drexel game. Maryland is going to change it's defensive game plan for Kavanagh. Nor will Notre Dame change its for Bernhardt. But I think they should.

MIAA Championship will see two MD alums square off against each other. BL (HC Brian Farrell) vs Spaulding (HC Brian Phipps). They played together while at Maryland but also believe their father’s played together at Maryland.

He looked good in yesterday's upset. If Lakeshow can clean up there passing, it should be a fun championship to watch.AreaLax wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 10:41 pm MIAA Championship will see two MD alums square off against each other. A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

Bernhardt graduated last year. Doubt he was seeking a degree. Probably just took some extra credits.youthathletics wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 2:41 pm Moved to appropriate thread.

Yes interesting about Bubba
Re: Maryland 2021
Unbelievable game. Bernhardt is not only the best player in America, this year he's one of the best attackmen if not best I've ever seen. Kielty could not keep up with him, not even close and when Notre Dame made the adjustment to slide to him immediately, just like Hopkins it wore their defense down and the Terps were able to run by their men and create mismatches late in the game. He was the key to everything.
Amazing effort by the Maryland defense late in the game playing all that D cause of the Notre Dame faceoff domination. Grill did an awesome job on Kavanagh in the first half and when Makar got switched on him late he did great too. 1 G, 2 A for Kav. Rest of the Irish players had strong games but they weren't going to let Kavanagh beat them and it paid off. McNaney came on strong late too.
Terps were just little too deep, little too poised and experienced. They have a second gear most teams don't. Great team win all around; hat tip to Notre Dame for a great effort.

Wisnauskas will return in 2022, per a line in this piece from Pat Stevens: "a number that could grow next year since he said he plans to play a fifth college season in 2022."

Why does it always seem that Maryland players stay around for decades?!?jrn19 wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 11:54 am Wisnauskas will return in 2022, per a line in this piece from Pat Stevens: "a number that could grow next year since he said he plans to play a fifth college season in 2022."

For example, it feels like Jared Bernhardt and Bubba Fairman have been around forever.

Actually will be Wisnauskas 6th year in college lax, 5th year playing
Maryland can thank Syracuse for red shirting him in 2017. They did a excellent job prepping him for them.

That’s huge news. He will pair really well with a big time transfer I hear the Terps will be adding from up North.

Pretty amazing to be undefeated and only have 1 First Team AA. Wonder how we pulled that off
