Mailin and absentee ballots are already being cast.
2 months prior to election day.
Why Oh Why do democrats need 2,3,6,12 days after election day to "count" them?
Could it be democrats want to win the election AFTER the real election?
Sounds pretty politburo to me.

Re: 2020 Elections - Dems vs Trumpublicons
SC recently passed a law to modify (I believe for this election only) a few things - main thing for me is no excuse needed for absentee voting. Used to be if you were 65 or older you did not need an excuse. I would have voted the same way anyway, as I would just tell them I was planning on being out of town, and then later I could change plans to be in town...wgdsr wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 11:58 amlet's just all agree that our politicians and our citizens are all idiots for being in the spot we're in, given our self-proclaimed shining city upon a hill status.RedFromMI wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 11:37 amNo - most of the states do not actually start counting the ballots until on the election day itself, and if you are overwhelmed by the numbers of mailed in ballots, it may take many days to do so. There are a few states that are allowing the mail ballot counting process to begin before the election day.6ftstick wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 11:30 am Finding this hard to understand.

And given the current vagaries of PO delivery as the USPS intentionally gets run into the ground by the current administration, there is some question as to whether the mail system will actually be allowed to deliver the mail in a truly timely manner.
As for me, I will not trust a mailed ballot, but SC allows this year for no excuse absentee voting. So October 5 or so when the voter offices open, I will take the trip to the county election office and cast my vote directly in that office. Our new state system will actually count my ballot as I enter the paper output into the counter right then and there, and the vote can just be read off the machine on election day.
when looking at potential purple states over the summer, sc was the only one i saw that didn't look like it would allow for expanded/universal mail in or no excuse early absentee. did that change recently or did i hear/remember that wrong?

You’ll be met with the usual ‘no we aren’t cheating’ but the same persons will tell you if a guy walks into an office a few days late and wants to cast a ballot then we need to accept that too!
Anyway, we all know the gig here. Democratic lawyers will fly to wherever the vote is close enough to get sympathetic judges to accept ballots even if they’re cast weeks afterward. This is the new game they play.

I'm now at day 16 on a check mailed from Chicago to Baltimore. Should take 3 days normally at most, 2 days for in-state mail, one extra for out of town. Worst, worst case 5 days. You know, it just occurred to me that I should look at when the fundraising mail my wife and I keep getting from President Trump (man these are some whack job letters!) was mailed...I wonder whether that's getting expedited treatment...nah, that's pretty unlikely...it appears to me that it's just a general slowdown...

"Sabotaging" the USPS by inventing the internet and e-mail, starting a 2 decade long massive downturn in letter-sized mail, and systematically locking and removing unused, regularly stolen, and damaged mail boxes. Then repairing and removing outdated and broken letter sorting devices (in favor of more needed parcel handling technology.)6ftstick wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 12:08 pmProve it.jhu72 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 12:00 pmthis is the reaction to republiCONS sabotaging the USPS.6ftstick wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 11:30 am Finding this hard to understand.

A lot of States don't allow any counting of Ballots until the polls close. And mail in ballots go through an excruciating process to be confirmed as valid. And there'll be millions of 'em.
And it'll take weeks. It's all manual.

Indeed, a heck of a lot could go wrong, but only because the USPS has so egregiously constricted mail delivery and legislatures in some areas don't care if the mail was postmarked two weeks earlier, if not arrived on Election Day it doesn't count...This is not by accident.6ftstick wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 12:40 pmWhat could go wrong?MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 12:35 pmI'm now at day 16 on a check mailed from Chicago to Baltimore. And Trump said as much last night. Don't count "the ballots" and he'll win, he thinks.
And, if that doesn't work, he needs another vote on SCOTUS because they're going to need to decide who won the election...that's what he said..
Listen to him. He's saying it out loud.

While states who are used to doing a high proportion of voting by mail begin processing ballots as they come in...not counting them, but opening, validating, putting in piles, etc. Goes way, way faster.3rdPersonPlural wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 1:03 pm A lot of States don't allow any counting of Ballots until the polls close. Of course Republicans vote by mail. In fact 9 military members (who overwhelmingly support Trump) recently cast their ballots by mail and all 9 ballots were discarded by partisan Democratic election officials in Pennsylvania:
https://www.justice.gov/usao-mdpa/pr/st ... il-ballots
All 9 voted for Trump. The FBI is going to find out which partisan Dem did it, and that dude will spend a year or more in his local Fed penitentiary.
Who is trying to steal an election again?

Let me know when Florida bans anything but in person voting. That would certainly fix the problem, right?

PB cannot read again - there is nothing in his linked press release to support any notion of a crime - just that an investigation is occurring, and they have secured the cooperation of the officials from the election office.
Normally this would not even be in a press release but the currently politicized DOJ is trying to yank the chains of gullible suckers like PB.

You know, you've convinced me; generally when the DOJ and FBI get involved in a 'situation', it's simply to hand out a mere traffic ticket, you know 30 in a 25, that kinda thing. Even the State PoPo is here picking daisies!

Moody's pipes up about the election, with a financial prediction:
From Scott Wong's Twitter feed:
From Scott Wong's Twitter feed:
Moody's: "We conclude that Biden’s economic proposals would result in a stronger U.S. economy than Trump’s."
https://www.moodysanalytics.com/-/media ... -biden.pdf
Largely because of Biden’s substantially more expansive fiscal policies, the economy would return to full employment more quickly coming out of the
pandemic than under Trump — in the second half of 2022 under Biden compared with the first half of 2024 under Trump."
"Biden’s reversal of Trump’s policies on foreign trade and immigration would also contribute to stronger economic growth, so that by the end of their terms in 2024, real GDP would be $960 billion, or 4.5%, larger under Biden than Trump This translates into 7.4 million more jobs"

You must mean long delays in packages/parcels. That directly coincides with people ordering all their food /dry goods/sundries and having them delivered.
