a career at colgate going 53%, don't think it qualifies as a monster move.
it does if they go to a faceoff on every clock reset. guys are going to get worn down.

colgate without viable grad opportunities. probably got in to his choice of masters program. not gonna dismiss his chances to get reps with up to 5 in the room, but expect his choice checks a number of boxes for him.

Brown gets another Transfer. "@TyXanders: Former @DrexelMLax midfielder Ben Scandone is set to transfer to @BrownU_MLAX, he tells @Inside_Lacrosse. Scandone registered 5G/8A as a freshman in 2023 and joins former @NDlacrosse lefty Jeremy Hopsicker as incoming transfers for the Bears."

Hens can really use Gravante - he could fit right in with Tye Kurtz’ graduation.

Maybe DeLuca can convince his dad to come in short term and provide some volunteer assistant duties - again, something the Hens could use.

Scandone is very good - was starting to see time at first midfield, has the ability to create separation, find the open man, hopefully fits in well.

I know a little different topic and one that is not necessarily published but wondering if people with more inside knowledge of teams can chime in...

How many "walk-ons" are there for most of these D1 teams?

Duke -
UVA -
UNC -
Cuse -
ND -
Maryland -
OSU -
JHU -
PSU -
Michigan -

Feel free to add in on teams you know of!

I don’t know the answer but have example for Maryland. In ‘23 when Maryland went from 4 goalies on the roster to 2 in a week. Till reached out to a student at Maryland who had walked on but did not make the team in ‘22. He was currently the club team goalie. He agreed to join the team.

True walk-ons, not many at all. Preferred walk-ons, meaning no athletic aid but help with admission and a spot on the team, several on most teams would be my guess

uva had at least 7 walk ons last year, varying degrees of p.t. the last couple years have been high water marks, but they've always had someone on the roster, most years several. occasionally multi-year starters.

they are *true* walk ons, not preferred walkons, as lacrosse doesn't get admissions slots for that.

My guess would be that a good portion of each team comes from preferred walk-ons. I believe each D1 team is allowed 12.5 full scholarships (someone with more knowledge please feel free to correct me) and with most teams having at least 45 players that leaves a lot of kids without athletic aid. A lot of D1 sports are like this but lacrosse has by far more athletes than most other sports (football aside).

I think Rutgers had one actual walk on last year. Typical years it's likely none. Most of the players have been recruited by some varying degree or another.
