One interesting aspect of the Dartmouth game will be what occurs at the face-off "X".

Dartmouth has one of the leading face-off players in the country in Mitchell Meyers. Lacrosse Reference recently ranked him in the top three nationally. Against UNC, Meyers won 71% of his face-offs. Against Harvard, he won 48% It will be interesting to see the competition between him and the Cornell duo of Petrakis and Cascadden.

Why leave out Psyllos? Can either face or play wing, and has shown he can score. I'm confident this group will hold their own.

Very true. I wasn't sure if he was a fixture in the rotation or just being developed for the future.

I was watching Nobles vs. Salisbury for 3.5 quarters--Salisbury went down 4-1, but 13-6 in their favor when I left. Three recruits playing-- 2 for Salisbury and 1 for Nobles. Tully made some good saves early for Nobles, but it became a shooting gallery. Also probably not his best day. Ryan Goldstein had quite a debut -- 5 goals and a couple of assists while I was watching. He is very elusive and a true X attack. Seemed to be able to beat his man almost at will. He forced a couple passes, but in addition to his assists had a number of passes that were not finished. Nobles is a good, not great team, and I'll be interested to see how he does against the Brunswick, Deerfield, Taft, AOFs of the world. He is a very exciting prospect and makes a mockery of his 0 stars from IL. Jaxson Smart was also a pleasant surprise-- good size, very good speed. I saw him score 2 on the run with a hard, accurate shot. I had thought he would be an excellent ssdm, but his offense surprised me. Like many Canadians, I only saw him play with 1 hand, which may hold him back. Also a 0 star rating.

Senior fogo recruit Sam Ricci won 16 of 17 in Victor’s 19-2 win over Fairport. Junior attack recruit Jack Herendeen had 2 g 2a.

AJ Nikolic had 2 goals in Malvern Prep’s 10-7 loss to top rated Brunswick

I know that we want our opponents to do well, so that Cornell looks better, but what about when a team you beat is playing a team that beat you - eg. OSU vs PSU- is it better to have OSU win so that our quality of wins is better, or is it better for PSU to win so that our loss is to a better team?

Or maybe it is a crapshoot, and the committee will emphasize whatever they want to justify their selections and seeding?

I assume that the poor soul from Dartmouth, Colin McGill will have #77 draped all over him for 60 minutes tomorrow, unless someone thinks it may be someone else? I doubt it's their good freshmen but seeing that McGill is their leading scorer, I assume he draws 77 all day. Good luck.

Woo hoo. Weather looks great. Won't have to dress like a polar bear.

Looking forward to watching the much improved Big Green live.

Red need to come out with the same intensity they showed against Yale and Penn.

OSU. Much better to have a top-20 win.

Chayse Ierlan was named to the Third Team in the Inside Lacrosse Media Mid-Season All-America selections. Nice to see him get some recognition.

CJ Kirst and Gavin Adler were named to the First Team. Congratulations to both of them.

Just keeping this on this thread,

Against Western Reserve, Hill Academy with another win on this road trip - and Willem Firth again looking like a top top
fall 2023 incoming freshman - he had 2 and 3 by my count.
You can really just watch from the end of the 3rd quarter through the 4th quarter where Firth took over this game,
the other reason I tracked this game, Firth was covered most of the game by top 2023 defenseman Ty Banks,

Would it be accurate to describe the Cornell offense today as a firing squad? Those poor Dartmouth goalies! With 2:44 left in the 1st quarter, the Big Red leads 10-1.

Barry and Tom called him "game-to-game." With all respect to Dartmouth, this was probably a safe game to rest him.
