Not a fan of NESCAC schools but certainly respect them for lacrosse. From warmer regions, but am dumbfounded that these institutions would deny the real "SCIENCE" and data that does not support not having spring sports. How do you people put up with this BS? Ivy cancels late, and NESCAC hems and haws and its end of February and no one knows What the heck is going on? Smartest MFers in the country and this is what you get? And pay $$$$$$ for this??? You people make my purple state look scarlet in comparison.

Inarguably you have many of the best teams in the country, how can you let this happen? Transfer to a school that supports sports. Their are many excellent schools that figuratively have a set. The disdain these NESCAC and some other administrations seem to have for athletics is appalling and I dare say un-American.

The open letter from the Penn lacrosse team (that the Ivy League of course ignored) is a solid summary of why this is so frustrating. Article is linked here.

completely agree...everyone should be playing - no doubt about it....but just because we have ties to those schools doesn't mean we all agree...more likely quite the contrary.

I guess it's a good thing that players choose a school because of the academics FIRST, prime example the past two seasons

Tufts starts practice Mon. or Tues. Format is the same as the fall.

Resurrect McCarthy and bring back the HUAC to investigate 2021 NESCAC lacrosse,. It definitely sucks, but you could also make the argument that those in power screwing over those not in power without a sufficient reason or explanation is quite American.

Interested to see how Michael McCormack of Middlebury does as a grad transfer in his UVM debut today. The level of play in the America East conference is probably a lot closer to the NESCAC than the ACC so I don't think it'll be a huge adjustment and there's a better chance he's a big contributor than bench warmer.

Saw pictures that Wesleyan was in the field this weekend, Bates sent out Twitter post about getting started and heard Trinity starting this week. Hopefully we can have a semblance of a normal season.

Yet Amherst players have not heard one word from their coach or Athletic Director in months ...

Awful for those athletes.
Bad news would be better than no news?
Maybe not if they’re still holding out hope for some measure of a season I suppose.
Feel bad for those players and families.

Great news, hopefully with the positive strides that have been made and more data of sports events of any kind not spreading COVID we can get as many teams as possible playing to give the best experience possible this spring. Has anyone heard about others?

Have not heard a word on their season.

Or have not flat out heard from their new coach.

The latter would be extremely puzzling.

I have no inside info on whether this is true or not but it would be extremely disappointing if so. The new coach came in under very tough circumstances with a lot of (fully justified in my opinion) skepticism about his hire. He should be going all out to win over the team and prove he belongs on this stage. Radio silence while most other NESCAC teams are at a minimum in close contact and trying to start practice is not a good start.

everyone knows the Devoe hire will not benefit Amherst. Im not saying he's a bad person but a losing record at the d3 and d1 level and he's the head coach of a top division 3 school? nescac coaches are penciling Amherst in as a win whenever they play again

Bates had practices yesterday and today. Intel says that they are formally practicing five days a week.
