At no point has she, or anyone else, suggested that the US Government start making cars or tennis shoes. No one is talking about what YOU think is socialism.

As for what is ACTUALLY socialism, you and your supposedly conservative friends have been running a mixed government years before anything resembling a modern liberal showed up.

Defined as: the public owns/shares and/or manages the means of production/providing a service.

-public schools
-public libraries
-public parks
-public roads/dams/bridges/canals
-public transit

Then there's the more soft socialism where there's a middle man (private firm). We have socialize health care, farm subsidies, price controls, loans for homes.

Did you know that well over half of the home loans originated in the US are Federal in one way or another 6ft.

You and FoxNation need to stop with the whining, and look around at all the socialized programs and services that surround you. Our economy would collapse without it. Remember that time about a decade ago that we learned that what YOU think socialism is, is "stuff the government provides that 6ftstick doesn't like?" I listed a bunch of things that you like just fine, and are clear examples of socialism.

Cortez has some fine ideas. Many are just rehashed Bernie ideas, but whatever. Example: Free training or education.

Here's where not paying attention gets you intro trouble. FoxNation thinks free University is insane. But did you know how much paper we have out there---"we" as in the taxpayer----- in Federal loans to students? $1 Trillion. Yup. $1 Trillion with a T.

Ya think there might be better uses for our money than giving 18 year old kids loans with zero collateral $1 Trillion so that they can major in 18th century English Poetry? I know I do.

Stop complaining for a minute, and listen. These ideas aren't all that bad----and you have to have noticed that after 20 years of R Congressional rule, we're falling behind EVERYWHERE. Education. Health Care. Entrepreneurship. Can you name a big Federal program from the R"s helping flyover Americans get the training they need for today's jobs?

They're sitting our their butts, handing out tax cuts to guys like me while flyover America circles the drain. We need new voices and ideas. The way it's SUPPOSED to work is that the R's take up ideas like Cortez's, and debate them, and make them better. What YOU seem to want is for us to do nothing. Do nothing, with the idea that the free market is going to hand out $100K jobs with full health care to dumb 18 year olds with GED's.
