They haven't killed enough Russians with our weapons yet.
Not yet. They are standing up to Russia when it matters. You want them to waive the white flag when it matters. When you see the whites of their eyes, run and waive white your flag.
In terms of stupid wars, this Crimean War is topping the original.
We know. But for some reason you’ve yet to explain to us—-you’re not blaming Putin. You’re blaming Ukraine for daring to protect their own sovereignty.

I don’t get why.
I've blamed Putin from the start. Putin is Putin. It takes two to tango & we're prolonging the war.

Putin was warning us for years what his grievances were, but we continued meddling in Russia's & former Russian states' internal affairs, fomenting revolutions, regime changes & NATO expansion.

We've helped Ukraine survive to the point where they can maintain their own independence & (with our continued help) defend themselves.
It's not our responsibility to sustain the war until they win back all their territory lost since 2014.

Based on previous experience with Biden, Blinken, Sullivan & Nuland, Putin knew what to expect when they came back into power. He acted when Zelensky refused to deal via the Minsk process & started pushing for EU & NATO membership, then cut off the water supply & overland access to Crimea.

Neither Biden nor Congressional warhawks are telling the American people how this will end or the potential consequences for the US.
Putin is prolonging the war. He can withdraw…..
Ukraine can now defend themselves behind the current line of contact. We're now providing more than they need just to defend the territory they now hold. We're now equipping them with the weapons necessary to go on the offensive to retake all the territory they lost (or surrendered without a fight) since 2014.
And because of all this Putin can’t have his troops withdraw.
Fixed it. Strange reason for Putin to not withdraw. Him do him I guess.

We're "prolonging" Ukraine's survival and the international rule of law.

The notion that Putin will ever stop invading and/or undermining a country he and the nut job hardliners believe is illegitimate and rightfully Russia's territory is incredibly naive.

Sure, we can roll over and let Putin achieve his aims, which certainly don't include stopping at Donbas. They'll take Kiev and all of the south, maybe a temporary fig leaf of the west most portion being allowed to remain. Yup, then who is next?

And how does China react to that lack of resolve?

OR, we can enable Ukraine to destroy Russia's aggression, forcing Putin to withdraw.

Dude: not two days ago you called me a moron for not understanding that Putin's about to go on the offensive!!!

And you've spent the rest of your time here mocking the media and poster here, telling them that they're painting a rosy picture about how Ukraine is doing.

Now you've done like your 100th 180 degree turn, and are telling me that things are AWESOME for Ukraine...so awesome, in fact that the US can stop shipping them arms today, and they can hold their current line, no problem.

And you wonder why everyone is giving you such a hard time. In your desperate effort to blame Biden for "doing it wrong", you can't even keep your own Bullsh*t forecasts straight. At this point, if you told me that America won WWII.....I wouldn't believe your military assessment of that situation.

And then you follow up with this......

So now everything that's landing in the coming months is SO awesome, that it's a foregone conclusion that Ukraine will take back all its lost territory from 2014.

It's like you let your kids post one sentence, and some dude you just met at the library for the next one.

You're all over the place.

Except, naturally, that I'm an idiot, so are your fellow posters, Biden is "doing it wrong', Putin's economy is better than ever, and you hate Europe.

Give us a call when you've got one guy making your military pronouncements. Oh, and please, find the guy who isn't a partisan idiot....if you can.

 Since when does "it takes two to tango" blame just one side? Have you ever tango-ed?

You're TOTALLY blaming other people. Do you want me to buy you a map? Putin invaded another country. Ukraine is defending its borders. You'd think a guy with your training would understand what "defending your country" means. Guess not. That must've been Grad-School stuff at the academy.

So what? My daughter has been angling for a pony, too......you're telling me that she can go steal another kid's pony because.......if I have your "logic" right......she told me she wanted one "beforehand".

 What kind of dumb*ss logic are you using here? If Putin told you several times to ram your plane into the Carrier deck "beforehand".....you're telling us you'd do it?
old salt wrote: Fri Feb 03, 2023 4:24 pm Neither Biden nor Congressional warhawks are telling the American people how this will end or the potential consequences for the US.
Same went for, lets see......S Korea, Vietnam, Japan (can't believe we're still freaking there), Iraq, Syria.

YOU screamed bloody murder because we dared to get the F out of Afghanistan: welcome to your own stupid, shortsighted military logic, man! We've been dealing with this stupidity since WWII....and you yourself have used this half-assed logic. Example: tell me again about Putin's sooper cool sub base that he can show to his buddies when he's feeling in adequate about his jock size. YOU think that makes perfect sense. The rest of us are looking at Russian people that can't f'ing eat a good meal.

But sure.....please act surprised that we're helping Ukraine. While you yourself are demanding that we send tanks to Taiwan so that we can provoke yet another war. Do we have a treaty with Taiwan? Nope. So.......how the F do you think that's different that what we're doing with Ukraine?

You can't help yourself.

You're still a moron. Putin's about to go on the offensive in the Donbas. That does not mean he's capable of taking the entire country.

Yes. We're now providing the Ukrainians more than just what they need to defend the territory they now hold. We're equipping them to mount a counteroffensive to take back territory they've lost, apparently ALL the territory they've lost since 2014, even the parts they did not defend.

That's beyond what they need to ensure their independence & national survival.
There's no guarantee that either side will prevail, how it will escalate & how it will end.
The longer it goes on, the more we commit, the greater the chances we get pulled into the conflict further than we already are.

Biden has marched us deeper & deeper into this blind canyon, with no exit.
He did not need to pledge unconditional military aid for as long as it takes.

Putin will have to stop at Ukraine because he's not capable of going farther, now that the EUroNATOburghers have pulled their heads out of their asses & are rearming. Ukraine has become a bloody stalemate which will just continue to grind up combatants until one side runs out of manpower.

Just because Putin wants it, does not mean he'll be able to get it. That's why NATO exists.

Are you actually asking whether it's the US or Ukraine or anyone else but Putin and his hardliners who are responsible... if Putin chooses to use a tactical nuke, calling down on them the wrath of god??

Nope, the only parties responsible will be Putin and those hardliners...no one has "provoked" them by standing up to them.
