cradle,
Iranians fleeced BHO
Ain't that how BHO settled things with the Iranians?
Cradle makes up his usual array of fairy tales.
Let's see some evidence of moral, principled Republicans paying compensation to Iran for Operation Ajax in 1953, exterminating innocent people, and stealing multiple billions in resources.
I guess the Taliban were taking notes when the Iranians fleeced BHO. Time to start packing gold and cold hard cash onto the C130s. It looks like Deja Vu all over again. Maybe some of the enlightened more progressive folks on this forum can explain what "getting more out of the Americans" is suppose to mean? I'm sure I know.
We holding some Afghan money?
Ain't that how BHO settled things with the Iranians? How many C130s will it take this time? I suppose Biden could use the Afghan money being held as a down payment for all the military hardware we gave them. What is the going rate for 45 blackhawk helicopters and say 300 thousand plus automatic rifles and goodness knows how many other armored vehicles? WE can throw all the ammo in for free. Will the Taliban demand interest on that cash?
Are we holding Afghan money? Some of that equipment belongs to Afghanistan. Not a political party. Whomever is in charge can use it as they see fit. To the victor goes the spoils.
Pretty sure the US has $5-7B of Afghanistan money tied up right now.

"To the victor goes the spoils" TLD - what are you implying, that yes, we lost the war and the Taliban not only defeated the Afghanis but also defeated the US? Seems it is still our equipment if the Afghani Army is not using it.

90% of US funded "military" or gun carrying caucasians are private contractors. On what planet, has any of this changed ?

That was my point, b/c the intended party failed to use it for their advantage, it in theory is defaulted back to the US. But what the hey....let em smoke each other in the coming civil war with pictures US weapons. Kinda like giving the street corner kid some free crack.

We have $5-$7B of their money. That goes a far way.
How much of our equipment was left behind?
How much longer would we like to evacuate?
How high would they like inflation to go?

Just think again about what you are saying & who the Taliban are. They are committed to brutally imposing, by force, their radical version of Sharia law. We are forced to work with them now, in the short term, because we have no other option, to get, just some, of our fellow Americans, Afghan allies & their families, out alive.
The sugar coating & rebranding of these barbarians is nauseating. In a historical context, what we are witnessing now would be the equivalent of the Allies negotiating peace during the Battle of the Bulge, & leaving Europe, east of the Rhine, to the tender mercies of the Nazis, then helping them consolidate their control, as the Vichy French did. THAT is just a part of the reason why so many veterans are exasperated with our abandonment of the Afghan people.
By necessity, we are forced to work with the Taliban, for now. But never lose sight of who they are, what they have done, & will do again.
... I have made no comment on who the Taliban are or what they have done. My point is they are more popular in Afghanistan than the US. They can be butt holes and more popular than us in their own country.

With the right amount of strategic bombing the Thaaaaallllybhaaaaaaan would be in possession of a very pricy pile of junk. Doing that would set the hair on fire of every FLP liberal on this forum.

I don't have a valid link but allegedly the US State Dept is preventing rescue flights out of Afghanistan. If true how is that possible and will Bidens people admit to doing it? Biden started out with a good idea and his administration has gone out of its way to turn the operation to full tilt FUBAR. Did Biden listen to anybody giving him advice? Was there ever a plan? How could any plan have included abandoning Bagram AFB before all our friends and American citizens were evacuated? My personal 64 thousand dollar question.. who was the dumb f**k in Bidentown that made that call? Will whoever the dumbf**k that made the decision be held accountable? Will we ever know who the idiot was that authorized abandoning such a vital strategic position knowing it would soon be needed. Maybe Jen Sake can clear it up for America? If there is some brave reporter willing to face her wrath.

Maybe the reason you cannot provide a credible link is because the story is fantasy. Some gullible people will believe anything that supports their preconceived views.

Report: Trump disparaged US war dead as ‘losers,’ ‘suckers’
By James LaPorta, The Associated Press
Sep 3, 2020
DELRAY BEACH, FLa. — A new report details multiple instances of President Donald Trump making disparaging remarks about members of the U.S. military who have been captured or killed, including referring to the American war dead at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in France in 2018 as “losers” and “suckers.”
Trump said Thursday that the story is “totally false.”
The allegations were first reported in The Atlantic. A senior Defense Department official with firsthand knowledge of events and a senior U.S. Marine Corps officer who was told about Trump’s comments confirmed some of the remarks to The Associated Press, including the 2018 cemetery comments.
The defense officials said Trump made the comments as he begged off visiting the cemetery outside Paris during a meeting following his presidential daily briefing on the morning of Nov. 10, 2018.
Staffers from the National Security Council and the Secret Service told Trump that rainy weather made helicopter travel to the cemetery risky, but they could drive there. Trump responded by saying he didn’t want to visit the cemetery because it was “filled with losers,” the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to discuss it publicly.
The White House blamed the canceled visit on poor weather at the time.
