I really don't care who Loyola plays but there might be a motivational revenge factor weighing on the Hounds if they play BU, and they've had good success at Ridley this year. Could be a long evening for the Black Knights if Loyola comes out hot. After watching the ACC games I noticed that UNC just didn't have the legs in the 4th qrtr against UVA having played previously two days prior. They had all of the momentum and then just hit the proverbial brick wall.

Well NO! I do not think playing Tues. hurts those teams in Friday's games. If anything they will be sharper. If they happen to win and have to play again on Sunday, then that could be a drain. These guys are in end of the season great playing shape. Playing 2 games in one week is not a problem. Time for a PL tourney upset so for fun I'll GO ARMY! To win it all.

Well, history would disagree with you, as no team seeded lower than second has ever won a Patriot League tournament championship. Playing 3 games in 6 days takes a huge toll. I'm not saying upsets can't happen, but the top two seeds have a big advantage.

I stated playing 2 games is not a problem for these young athletes, but playing the 3'rd game IS !! My son played in the PL tournament, ask the players, Tues. Fri. is Ok. Tues. Fri. & Sunday is hard. You would need to win on Sunday to win the PL. So yes, that is unlikely given the format.

Voyeur is spot on here. 2 games, no problem. The 3rd game is where the legs start to give out.

And as much as I love our military, I'm afraid I and the rest of the country simply can not pull for Army over Loyola. ;)

Looking for Spencer to put up some numbers this weekend. The weather looks awful though fro Friday and Sunday.

Got it. Thanks. Intuition was telling me that playing 2 games with short turnaround was hard and 3 games even harder.

WHAT?! Oh man. I thought I had taken care of everything - scheduled Friday off, bought my ticket, registered for the alumni tailgate, etc. I hadn't checked the weather though. Damn. 80% chance of rain. Oh well, at least 79 degrees and raining beats 35 degrees and raining.

Go Hounds!

Or today. I think this game is at 3 pm.

I'd like to see Army and Bucknell win strictly because of some friends having kids affiliated there, but I also want BU to win so the Hounds can get payback on them.
Be careful what you wish for. I rewatched the Loyola/Lafayette game, and if Loyola plays a quality team like BU the way they played Lafayette, they will get blown out by epic proportions. The Hounds really need to clean up the sloppy careless play on offense. Surprisingly, the defense is finally starting to gel, but the offense can't execute lately.
IMO Loyola already knew at the start of that game they had locked up the bye and home field advantage. I don’t think the starters played in the second half. I heard that a large number of players who never see the field logged some quality minutes.

True. Although it's the reserves who played quite well, and the starters who looked terrible, especially in the first half. Loyola had 11 turnovers in the first half, all by the starters. Most of the starters played through the 3rd quarter. The reserves took over in the 4th quarter and executed quite well. I didn't pay close attention to whether Lafayette had also cleared their bench.

Would like to point out that all the teams played last Friday. Army an BU played last night and will play again this Friday and could possibly play Sunday. As I see it, that would be 4 games in eight days. I don’t care how in shape they may be, that is tough to do. I heard people comment that when Loyola lost to BU, they had played 3 games in seven days and BU had played 2 games in fourteen days. At least Loyola was able to rest their starters the second half of the game last Friday. We shall see how it shakes out come Friday! #gohounds

Oops, I meant 4 games in ten days...sorry

They should have moved the games up earlier; the chance for rain and t-storms increases after 5 pm.

The Army/Loyola game looks to be the best of the two. I think Lehigh seems to have suffered some late season swan dive, not sure why either.

The weather has changed dramatically. I just cut my lawn and I am about to head up to Baltimore, and I am absolutely drenched. The humidity is off the charts. It feels like August. Conditioning will definitely be a factor in these games. The host team always chooses to play in the early game to allow for more recovery time before Sunday. In this case, I wonder if the later game will have an advantage if the temp drops a bit this evening. I'm really hoping for no t-storms. That long delay before the UVA game in the first round of the NCAA tourney last year was no fun.

I think Lehigh's injuries have caught up with them. I don't see them beating BU.

Go Hounds!

Loyola offense has forgotten to show up so far. Stover is having a very good game, though.

There are a lot of nervous people in the mid-Atlantic region of this country right now.

Army 3, Loyola 1. 2nd quarter.

Loyola with 2 goals in one half. I don't think that happens so often.

For the record, Army D was my defense in our Fantasy League and they did not hold teams to 2 goals per half...

As a follower of the hounds women's team I am shocked....2 goals, 12+ TOs? better fix this soon or NCAA berth is at risk.
