Agree 100%
I can't disagree with any of your points. Richmond is always a tough call as they always seem to rise up to the top competition.coda wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 9:22 pmI can’t see any argument to have Gtown ranked currently. That blow out loss to Loyola is hard to overlook right now. I don’t think beating Penn is a win to move them into the top 20. If I am taking a 2 loss team to rank it would be a Richmond team that didn’t look out of place vs Maryland or Virginiajoewillie78 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 3:49 pm Week 3 Top 20 , 2/18:

I had them 3rd. Maryland beat the previously #12 Princeton. Denver beat the previous #5 Cornell. Army annihilated the last team they played who were very good Rutgers. ND lost to the previous UNRANKED or in some polls #19 Georgetown. I actually gave thought to putting them behind Yale.keno in reno wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 4:48 pmWhat's the 2024 factual justification for Notre Dame at #6?joewillie78 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 4:26 pm My new top 20, 2/25:

This is why rankings are fun there first few weeks, but kind of meaningless. Gtown looked like a dead man walking (again) and pulled out a huge win. Georgetown is clearly not a bad team. Rough opening game but that happens; they should be dinged in the rankings for it, but it shouldn't override the big picture. Since then they lost a competitive game to top 10 Hopkins, beat ranked Penn on the road, and took down a ND team that is obviously really good on the road.keno in reno wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 5:01 pmYes. It's very difficult to repeat. There's a lot of parties between last year's national championship and the current season. Motivation is tough to maintain. And honestly, maybe they just got lucky to beat UVA last year in the semifinals after getting dominated twice in the regular season and a dude missed a point blank shot to put the game away for the Hoos?
I'm not saying ND is not a top 6 team ultimately, but that's kind of the same BCS football logic that always produced the same 4 teams in the playoffs over and over. Right now, very early in the season, the data should indicate that ND should not be ranked #6. Right now. That said, they can easily dominate Maryland at home next week and earn a top 5 ranking.
I think I have been pretty consistent on insisting that their is no such thing as a "good" loss.coda wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 6:05 pmI have a hard time figuring out how UVa is #2, Maryland #3, and Richmond is unranked.
