Just seems like they haven’t been the same after manny left and they had issues between some suspensions and some key injuries last 4-5yrs.

Oh I agree nothing is a lock. Idk what happened with Bryant last yr maybe the kids knew Pressler was leaving I just don't know but it happens. There is a good chance that with all that experience last yr which lack of experience cost them the game vs Yale as they made mental mistakes in the final 2 mins but a good chance they are even better this yr. So much talent returning and a very well coached team. Anti can happen tho. I'm not even a fan of them I just watched them play a lot the last two yrs. If they do improve tho with another yr under their belts they can be a very strong team this yr. The talent and coaching is there.

I would put it at

1. Richmond/St Joes
3/4. UMass/HPU
5. Bart
6. St Bonny

I’d like to think Bart will be more competitive in general but 23 is going to be a rebuild of the offense. Not sure HPU may not be up there either.

Hobart should be competitive like they usual are. I would think they could land some good recruits with this move to the A 10. Give em a yr or 2 and they will consistently make the conference tournament. Maybe upset a top team and win tournament.

Agreed 100%, I also think coaches finally able to give athletic money will make a difference too. Can't believe how competitive they've been in the past without being able to award athletic scholarships. Kids clearly want to play at Bart, now with money... it will only help the program.

I’m talking about 2023, will have depth and experience on back half of field but don’t return a single kid with 50 career points. So success will be driven by a 3yr starting goalie, returning full close D and LSMs, strong FOGO situation and a experienced first midfield line but completely unknown attack and depth will have to be established during the season. That’s sounds like 5-8 to me, ull IIT some guy character 9-7 type wins and maybe get to 7-6 or so but the offense will be limited in 23 compared with what others have returning. And our top shooter is going to Richmond to use his fifth year with his brother! We love Derrek Madonna but may have to put him on his butt in that game.

One other point on St. Joe’s,
as if they don’t have enough offense,

their leading scorer from a couple years back, Doran, is back,
don’t know if it was injury last year that kept him out or
something else.

The NEC didn't get the credit it deserved. Bryant and St Joes were not easy outs in the NCAA tourney.

Nope the NEC was underrated. Bryant and St Joes can play with many top schools and then LIU and Hobart battled with both of them. Some compared the NEC to the MAAC which the NEC was a lot stronger. I think the top 4 of the NEC could have been the same in the MAAC if it was all one division. Look how many kids from the NEC have transferred to top programs this yr. Was a lot of underrated talent there then u got St Joes who won the NEC and could end up in the top 10 this yr being in the CAA.

RoMo was solid too before taking their talents to the Asun in its first season in the conference. Held up well vs UVA in what should’ve been our (Barts) game. Always felt like most years it wasn’t that far off the AE and CAA.

Not just this year, Barts had four kids go to MD, Del, OSU (2). Two starters (Jason Knox and Justin Scott though Scott had to move to SSDM because Del had roster issues w health and suspensions (I think as well) that year). Holden was injured most of the year but played late effectively as a 2nd line middie in a bum knee and the fourth took over 100 draws at OSU and got them into the playoffs because ND was killing Ignasio and Blanchard came in and was better than 50% which flipped the playoff AL to them from ND, kid was 65% at Bart and Phi Theta Kapoa who went to OSU for program specific fifth year).

Other schools have had kids move as well.

No ur right the last few yrs. Holden, Blanchard and Knox were very good players. Maddona left for Richmond this yr. Hobarts FOGO this yr Shea is pretty damn good too. A lot of talented players played in the NEC. I mean Bryant went toe to toe with Virginia in the NCAA tournament in 2021 before Virginia went on to win the National Championship. Then St Joes lost by 1 to Deleware, lost to Penn in OT and went toe to toe with Yale this past yr in NCAA's. Hobart had a very close game with St Joes during regular conference play while LIU played em tough in NEC tournament. Hobart beat some good programs this past yr too and lost by a few to Cuse. I said even with the loss of Hobarts top scorers they will be competitive in the CAA this yr. Now with scholarships to they will be in the mix most yrs. Idk how Bryant will be this yr they lost a lot of talent too like LIU did. Their whole attack is gone which was so talented and they lost there goalie too. LIU had a shot to win the MAAC this yr if the team stayed together but they lost so much talent most importantly Will Mark. They have a 3 star freshman goalie and some talented freshman kids. Them along with Sean Boll plus a few good players still there so can see them being competitive this yr then next yr being in the mix. I love the new coach Levine so they will regroup fast.

Exciting to see new programs coming to Amherst. Be interesting to see Richmond and High Point travel to the northern schools.

One of the best home ECAC games I went to after graduating was 2009 vs UMass. You’ll never convince me that the last goal in regulation was in regulation but rather a solid 3-5 seconds after or that Chris Pederson wasn’t slashed when he coughed up the ball late to allow UMass to tie it but regardless of those travesties of god it was a clinic between Doc and our very good goalie Mac Silberlicht with some great individual plays and high intensity on both sides. No more exciting 7-6 OT game is imaginable.

Doc might have been used to those types of games dating back to Freshman year vs Cornell, then Hofstra in the NCAA's

Knew we had a couple of tight ones but scanning the recap that was the second straight OT game.

Never thought UMass was getting past Hofstra in the playoffs though…

Rough year for the Dutch in 2006,
but UMass was the only team they lost to that year,
twice of course,

Ridley’s (SE PA) Nick Colleluori would have been on that
great Dutch team, but he of course was ill.

Denver Pios really taking it to St Joe’s,

hard for St Joe’s to hang with tough teams if they’re not
scoring and not winning face offs,

defense is not St Joe’s thing.

6-2 Pios at the end of Q1.
