Umd is the best team. Best talent and most finely tuned/best coached. They could lose but it would be because of hitting pipes or missing point blank shots.

or because the other team plays better. they have a chance to run thru the acc. we'll see.

All should remember that Maryland was downd 5-0 to MICHIGAN before they blew them out. And the ACC fans don't even consider Michigan as a legit Division 1 team. It is comical how underrated the big ten was this year.

This is truly unbelieveable. Md on another level. Wow Rutgers and Hopkins were better then Duke on any day this year. Michigan and Ohio State would likely give Duke a game. And Jared B, well, he is Superman!

Can't wait to see the posts following the Maryland-duke game. The biggest insult to Maryland and the big ten was giving undefeated maryland the #3 seed in the tourney when they were undefeated and #1 in most polls. Again, i stand by my original statements prior to the tourney. Maryland, Rutgers, and the Big Ten as a whole were disrespected and underrated all year. Maybe, this tourney will end the ACC domination talk and the automatic placement of every ACC into the tourney to grab 5 of the 8 at large berths. The Big Ten and the ACC are more equal than most fans are willing to admit.

After Maryland settled down and stopped turning the ball over...this wasn't even a game. It was utter domination in all phases. Grill and Makar absolutely just erased Sowers and O'Neill. Yes they scored 3 goals combined...but all 3 were in unsettled situations. Man up...they had no answers.

Duke rode their luck all year, finally got exposed as just never putting the pieces together all year. Danowski sayin “we’re still looking for our identity” at half time of the national semifinal was as ominous as it gets. Could never put the pieces together. Meanwhile, a Maryland team that’s played together for years now....looked a lot like it. Better everywhere.

Rutgers might have been better then Duke on any given day this year.
JHU might have been better than Duke on any given day, starting only with their last four games.
But on any given day does not mean they would win a best-of-seven.
And we will never know since neither did what they needed to do.

The problem for the B1G was, once JHU lost in the finals to UMD, there was no third team that could conceivably have been invited.
And, if the Jays had pulled off the miracle, then RU would have been a bubble team (yes, they almost beat UNC, but Army would have had a case as well).

Adler, Brower and jtgh were good. Respect to #2 for battling thru the injury.. The other all Americans were no better than what Maryland faced in the B1G.
