Stats say that 27 Brown players saw the field against Q. Lots of guys working hard and earning time is a good sign.

Good win against an opponent who did't appear to have a very sharp day. Never take a Tuesday win for granted though. Shooting much better. Agree with the above, lots of guys playing early--possible 2nd line middies played more than 1st in Q's 1 & 2, and produced. Goss with two strong games in a row is encouraging. Only two games in, but face-off's are off to a promising start. Kniffin rides hard.
If there is an area for improvement it would be turnovers. I guess it comes with the territory but when the competition picks up Bears will hopefully value each possession.

Game is still up. Search function off on the app though just takes some time to find it.

Interesting to note as Bruno goes for its 3rd win, the starting attack is kinda 3 Xattackmen. All 3 are capable and comfortable carrying the ball from behind, no set roles like x, wingshooter, crease/box-type attack. Maybe not planned, just "3 best are the starters". McCaleb is usually behind, but the O is fully functional when they rotate around. In the past Kniffen has run mid and inverted, but this year so far fulltime A. A few times I remember Grell or Aughavin inverts, but not much came of it (IIRC)

It appears he has the green light on the offensive end of the field too when he brings it across. Looks like a 2 way player eventually, asset in the clearing game.
Don't know much about Stony Brook this year. Like Brown they were young last year and have a lot back. Should be a hard fought game.

Saw the 2nd half. Some bad clearing to's late, and a few 'goalie warmup' shots right to the opponent's mesh. Can't give up 3 goal leads in the 4th.

On to a solid PC team.

It hurts a little to write this, but is it time to start “The Conversation?” Brown is now 25-25 under the current staff. Over the past two seasons plus this season, the staff is 15-19. (The first year, 2017, produced a 10-6 record.) In the three years prior, the team was 36-14 under Lars. If you skip the amazing 2016 season, in ‘13, ‘14 & “15 the team was 28-17. The infrastructure and institutional support has not declined during the current tenure. Cornell, Princeton, Penn and Yale have only improved as Brown has slipped. Thank goodness for three wins over Princeton in the past three years or things would be quite ugly on the W-L. I wish the team nothing but the best, but i think it’s a fair to ask about results. Here’s to hoping today’s “bad loss” marks a turning point for the team and the staff.

Bad L in a game the Bears controlled. What happened to the face-off rotation today? Providence is a good team, so next weekend is a great opportunity to right the ship.
There’s plenty of talent on this team and they should compete in the stacked Ivy League. The arrow is up for the 2020 Bears so I’m interested to see how this season plays out before getting too worried about staff. But the results need to improve.

"The team played hard and I'm proud of our effort," said Brown head coach Mike Daly. "We controlled a lot of the pace of the game, but we just didn't make enough plays, which is a reflection of coaching."

Personally not ready to call for heads. The W-L numbers aren't great but they've made the ILT every year under Daly, and won some there. Even Lars' '15 & '16 went down in semis. Not saying we've got another Shay, but look how long it took him get Yale up. Couple more years.

Brown was definitely the better team out there, but you've gotta close it out. Up 3 in the 4th against SB, not Maryland. Stony Brook goalie played great and frustrated the Bears' shooters. I don't know what the exact stats were, but Brown seemed to dominate at the face-off x, which is promising. Bears didn't seem to be able to generate many (if any) good shots on their handful of man-up opportunities. Bears got a lot of calls to go their way, but couldn't seem to capitalize. Liked SB's coach a lot -- fiery, but always stayed positive with his players. For what it's worth, was sitting in SB section and some of the fans kept commenting on the sheer size and physicality of the Brown middies. Talented Brown team this year - hopefully they can move past today and have themselves a season.

Too bad Brown couldn’t have borrowed one or two of Stony Brook’s 9 Canadians to finish a lot of those opportunities around the cage that were squandered ....3 of those “north of the borders” accounting for 9 of SB’s 21 points .....another 60 plus shots game for the Bears with under 50 percent being on bet....another opposing goalie coming up with 22 saves - 2 hot goalies or Brown shots with not great degrees of difficulty? ...Enchill gets my 3 stars - hustle - ground balls- toughness..McShea at the FO gets 2 stars....Geppert the 1 star....excellent riding the entire game by all....excellent defense throughout by Coach Svec’s group.....Goalie Goss seems to often start slowly before exhibiting his all-American talent ....as noted above a lot of those shots from the midfield not in cage...would take an Act of Congress for Brown to get in a Canadian or two (even “no transfers Princeton” showing 3 on its roster) but sure could use more finishers of the box lacrosse type....do like the aggressiveness of the defense and have to believe that 60 shots will have to yield a 33 % goal percentage sooner or later....shades of the Va. 4th qtr collapse yesterday...kept waiting to gain a four goal margin that never materialized ...a solid Seawolves team with a goalie who can be and was yesterday outstanding...just our luck- 4 Ivies who should/could legitimately be Top 10 ranked tomorrow - toughest league in the nation! - and a fifth that beats a very tough Umass squad at Umass
