Interesting to see Maryland and PSU playing that first conference weekend.

BTN+ is taking their time listing games. Rutgers and UMd both have home games on Feb 1, just a few weeks down the road.
Of course, UMd has 2 big home games in February: Penn (Feb 15) and Notre Dame (Feb 29).

Yale at Penn State on Feb 22 is already listed on PSU's schedule as being on BTN.

Seems a little strange that they chose Sprock at midfield over HM AA Anthony DeMaio. DeMaio scored 46 points while Sprock scored 13.
TJ Malone had 36 points for PSU.

I think the assumption is DeMaio will play attack this year. And Malone is arguably an attackman as well (either that or they didn't want to have even more PSU/Maryland players on this list).

Any way you slice it, it's a completely insane decision. IL is trying way, way, way too hard here.

Not one Hopkins player, really? IL loves Penn State and they are obviously very good but come on.

Too hard to rate this league (and ACC for that matter), particularly at attack. Names like Epstein, Williams, Wisnaukus, LeClaire, Mullins and Charalambides being left off doesn’t seem right, but what obviously matter are the end of season awards.

No Johns Hopkins or Michigan players.

Even though Inacio had a slightly higher FO pct last year (.637), I would have named Arceri (.610) at Face-offs.

I might have fit Tre LeClaire in at midfield, even though he often is considered an attackman.

If one wanted to be optimistic about freshmen improving, why not put Epstein on the attack.

Lot's of good attackmen left off: Epstein, Wisnauskas, Mullins, Charalambides, Buckanavage, LeClaire, J.Myers.

Arceri, DeMaio, Malone... They're trying to make sure the preseason list isn't all PSU and UMD. And they're struggling to do this.

They got FO right. Inacio is better than Arceri

A bit inane worrying about preseason picks. Lots of good players out there and some kids will surprise. More important who wins and loses.

Hard to disagree with the Big Ten projected standings.
One of these years, Michigan is going to break out though. They have won a game in the Big Ten each of the last 2 seasons. They have a nice offensive group: Buckanavage, Mack, Myers, Clay, and Sutherland - a couple of top recruits in Zawada and Bonomi. They add a top freshman defensemen in Schriber, and Conry has picked up a couple of transfers (Legg, Schaffner) to help the defense. FOs is a question mark, but Rowlett was fairly highly rated going into last season but got injured. Goal is another question mark. The have the 5th ranked team Rutgers at home, but have to go on the road to play #4 Hopkins.

Epstein is THE best attackman in the country. Other than Bernhardt, he is the best "complete" attackman. Dodge(to feed or score), Feed, Carry, Shoot from 13 yds and finish inside. Some others on this list are one skill dominant, which is fine but if we are talking about "All Conference" I want the best the conference has to offer.

I know Hop has talent but any hop biased person complaining about IL biases is pretty funny.

ament and o'keefe outpointed him by a mile.
bernhardt also nipped him, and did it while shooting better and with fewer turnovers. it's not a raging injustice. it's also preseason hype.

And the sophomore has all season to prove himself, as if that should be the goal for any player!
(and I suspect that's not his goal either)

Being the best is about way more than just points. Many times that is a direct result of the players around you and what they can do (ie okeef) what would he be like without someone to create opportunities for him? He scored more points, yes, but my argument was “Complete.” So yiu are correct but... eh. Read the post. Argue the point im making. 8 pts against St Joseph’s and Furman mean very little. Just numbers.
