I’m not in favor of banning abortions. Liberals love abortions. If they give birth to fewer liberals, America wins, right?!??

Actually I’m not. Most Republicans favor a ban on abortions after 15 weeks. Most Republicans (reluctantly) favor legal abortions until then. Most Republicans favor federalism.

If this draft opinion is the majority and if it stands, federalism will be the driving force here. And good news, JHU72: the world won’t end!!!! I know it’s hard to believe, but the world will carry on, possibly more ethically, more morally, and far healthier.

Baltimore city high schools graduate the seniors with almost none achieving grade level reading or math competency, setting the kids up for failure at the next level.

Good thing Democrats are focused on what’s important here, a former NR editor who no one knows.

Ben Shapiro yesterday called for SCOTUS to overturn Brown v BOE. Suspect he is better known to todays republiCONs than former National Review editor, Peter Brimelow. Only us old farts remember what were considered to be mainstream republicans from 25+ years ago.

Meanwhile your Democratic-run cities, led by the DNC’s #1 donor the teachers unions, oversee the travesty known as inner city education, where taxpayers shell out the highest per pupil spending only to get below 3rd world results.

Keep focusing on irrelevant topics like Brimelow and Shapiro while the children suffer.

Have we seen any answers for the challenges of educating those in poverty other than "go back to where you came from"?

Why do so many "red" states do so poorly on educational achievement in their school systems? It's not as if their politicians haven't had decades to solve these issues, right?

The cliche is: if you think that's bad, head to any number of largely rural States, Petey.

It's the haves the the have nots. My daughter will get a world class education. The bottom 75% of earners in the US will get a *hit sandwich, and class sizes that are so big, NOTHING is learned.

Got a plan to fix this, Pete? Budget cuts, right? Blame the unions, and move on?

You don’t have a particularly keen sense of reading, and therefore you either fabricate quotes from others or simply ignore their posts, so *reluctantly* I’ll post (yet again) where conservatives believe school performance can improve. At the heart of it all is helping parents become more invested in their children outcomes. You get their with a mix of school choice and charter schools. You can further accelerate the change by electing actual leaders (not incoherent buffoons) to office, who might have the stones to call a guy like John Doerr to invest $$One Billion in charter academies rather than nonsensical climate initiatives at Stanford, which doesn’t need that money anyway.

you made the attack, Petey.
I'm simply asking what all your 'red state' politicians have done to fix their own glass houses?

Looks to me like nothing at all.

Here's the thing, it's hard where there's concentrated poverty, where families have all sorts of extremely challenging situations related to such poverty, especially given how we fund education in our country at the local jurisdiction level.

Red states happen to have some of the lowest overall educational achievement of their population and some of the lowest rankings in the elementary and secondary school systems. And the issues are worst in their least affluent local jurisdictions, whether urban or rural...indeed, a ton of rural poverty in those red states.

When you've figured out how to solve those issues, Petey, and proven you have the answers 'cause they work there, then come back to us in your critiques of those trying to do so in poverty stricken areas in blue states.

sounds great...how come none of these long time red dominated states have proven they can make this work in their own backyards where poverty is worst?

Yup, because they'd rather squawk and squeal than actually solve the problems....and it's actually much harder than they (you) like to pretend.

Florida has them. So does Colorado. School choice. Charter schools. It didn't work in getting up overall scores...especially in poor areas, as you know.

Is that it? You're done? School choice is your silver bullet?
