I do know if I ever used that particular c word expression in any context MD lax might have had a mini stroke in the process of excoriating me on many levels. I am patiently awaiting for MD lax to publicly call out the good doctor for his disgusting homophobic vile reference. This could take awhile for MD and some other of the usual suspects to defend one of their own for sticking his foot in his mouth. I won't report it but Im guessing management would have no other choice but to put the hammer down.

I'm glad to hear that you guys don't approve of that use of the English language in such context. I don't think I've ever used it that way, either, but I have plenty of expressions that come out in the heat of the moment that 'cross the line'. Try not to do it here, though. But I can be pretty darn crude at times.

Pretty sure that particular phrase can be used without being homophobic in specific, indeed as '72 did about this particular gal...who is indeed deserving of immense scorn and reprobation, assuming the story is accurate.

As to the particular act described, it is neither specific to sexual preference, nor, IMO, an act which I find "disgusting" when performed between two consenting adults.

There are people on this forum who nitpick verbiage all of the time. I believe the good doctor could have made his point without using that particular word. The outrage is expected. I can only imagine how a former moderator on the old forum would have handled such vile and unnecessary language. The yellow flags would have come out in bunches. What I really dislike here (and back in the LP days although it happened less), is when posters make personal attacks on other posters. I think public figures and those who are being discussed, like Witzke in this situation, are fair game for ad hominem criticism, but not other posters.

Specific to this thread I'm still at a loss over why some, including you, seem to be more upset with 72's word choice than Witzke's expressed position. It's like being more upset a driver ran a red light than that the driver hit a pedestrian just before.

You should listen to it. He goes into great detail, not only why he did it, but why so many others get in to it. It has many layers/levels, some as you suggested, some b/c they where never loved/hugged shown affection, witnessed affection of parent(s), envious of how females are treated in society, and the big one 'love bombing'. The latter, is more to your point.....it happens in churches, "religious" groups, cults. When you struggle with deep depression, anxiety, social integration, etc....and you enter a place that accepts you via 'love bombing' you are immersed in and flooded happiness, a feeling of fitting in, belonging. It then takes on a life of its own.
