MTA: I was thinking Tom Gagnon. But Doug Brown was AA in 1981 and1982 (and Bickford (above)). Gagnon was AA in 80 and 81. I had to defend both those guys. Doug Brown later won a cpl Stanley Cups.

Also, my RLS team went 13-0 in 81 and won the ISL. I (we) worried about Gagnon, not so much Brown or Bickford.

St. John prep commitments - Jack Weissenburger, Harvard. Ryan Delucia, Georgetown. Jack Doherty, Wesleyan. Luke Kelly, Michigan.
SJP with only one senior D1 commit, 5 juniors, looks be more of same for next year.
Five seniors are heading to strong D3 schools as well (Endicott, Conn College, Wesleyan, Union, Babson) so it's far from a weak class, but next year looks like an uptick in talent. No one in the class of 2025 looks like a Jimmy Ayers type, but it's more D1 level players in a single class than they've had before. I'd love to see them get a game against BH, Seb's, or Nobles when the teams are in late April/May form. Any ISL-Catholic Conference match ups would be great tbh. There are ISL-CC games at the sub varsity levels - and players, parents, and I assume coaches want to see that for the varsity teams as well - I'm not sure why it never happens.

The only time it makes sense for an ISL team to play a non-league game is during the stretch after the ISL season ends. Late April-May is the heart of the ISL regular season…why play a non league? That makes zero sense.
The ISL schedule is just too tough.

Yeah, maybe that Wednesday after the ISL championship. A last a hurrah for BH or Seb's and a playoff tune up for SJP.

NLF came out with their rankings (top 60 + honorable mentions) for the class of 2026. Obviously there could be some biases based on affiliation, but it's interesting to see at least on interpretation of who will be getting early attention in Sept.
https://nlfrankings.com/nlf-spring-2024 ... ngs-31-60/

8. Tuck Gilbane, Att, Nobles
14. Tedy Frisoli, Att, St. Seb's
19. George Kelly, Def, St. Seb's
37. Brian Burke, Def, St. Seb's
Honrable Mention: Dylan Casillo, Mid, Belmont Hill
Honrable Mention: Ty Curry, Att, St. Seb's

On the recruiting front, there should be another big batch of 2025 commitments soon as NESCACs begin their process on Monday. That's always a big ripple for the ISL. At a brief glance I'd say there's 20ish seniors who are on that mid D1-high D3 cusp. At this point most will commit D3, but there were late summer commitments to both Georgetown and Duke the past two years, so who knows.

Finally, I'm putting together a transfer of list for the ISL. I'm almost finished with it, but if you have any news of players coming to the ISL, switching from one ISL school to another, or transferring out of the league please send me a PM or put it in the comments.
