Apparently they didn’t have to look too far! 👀

Glad administration did their due diligence and had 3 great candidates on campus over the last month.

Seems like a great hire, tireless worker and recruiter. One of the other candidates was a viable option with a pedigree, the third was not a real option. Heard at least one big name dropped out and took a prep job, but by all accounts he was the top option from day one.

A very good situation for Tatro, plus two veteran, experienced coaches there to assist will help the transition.

CC? Does that make sense?
Can confirm.. more to come out in the next couple weeks. Sounds like a full search will take place but I wouldn’t be surprised if the AD looks to elevate Assistant Coach Colin Cornaire. He’s been with Nick and has helped build that program. I’m sure it will be a competitive pool of candidates, but timing might play a factor tho… idk if many sitting HC’s would want to leave right now. I wonder if we’ll see Donny Moss’ name start popping up more I’ve heard he was a finalist at BW

Lots of CCs in there. But I was wondering if it might be a move to Colorado. If Fiorintino is staying in the game CC is really the only upward move unless it’s a big assistants job in d1. Pure speculation on my part.

Fiorintino is out of the game.

Who are these two veteran assistant coaches you speak of? And what makes them any different from an average assistant at the D3 level?

Only one there now is Rory.
Tony will need to hire. Nate went over to CSU as the volunteer assistant.

Bill Schmoldt, former Heidelberg assistant was hired there this summer as well. I would assume that's the other veteran midwest coach

They have Coach Jeffers, who’s been there since the program started, and Coach Schmoldt, former Heidelberg head and Oberlin assistant. Lot of Cleveland/Midwest connections on staff, will need another with Brunner at CSU.

Wouldn’t surprise me either if the AD hired Cornaire. The AD is not the most ambitious fellow.

They will be hiring an offensive coordinator. Tony will run the defense but they need a coach to run the offense. Both other coaches are volunteers.

Does anyone have updates on the remaining opening? Obviously Colorado College could keep the ripple effects going in D3. Is Geneseo truly open?

Geny coach is gone as of October 1st. Assistant is for now the interim coach for now as there has not been any official word from the AD. But not surprising as it took two months to post the woman’s lax opening.

Heard they were only offering $50k, can’t imagine they knock this out of the park if that’s the case.

I thought this job would bring more shakeup. Time will tell.

Question of the day

1. Best Hire of the Summer?
2. Most Interesting?
3. Most Underrated?
