I have no doubt that a college would try and deconstruct what a guy like that taught them. No question.

How long before guys like Pete and DeSantis get rid of public education?

The core of his message is correct insofar as there does exist a rather large American-hating leftist push by many professors, with kids graduating with zero marketable skills. I mean, my favorite teacher ever was an atheist socialist philosophy prof! But that was decades ago when you could enjoy debate and not be punished for being conservative and patriotic. Today, you get socially shamed and professors are as likely to dock you grades.

I’m not sure this guy Christian has solutions, but I always err on the side of anyone who is patriotic.

And what was your degree in, Pete?

And by "america hating" you mean: they might dare to tell students America has (gasp) (shocker) done some bad things as a nation.

No! Say it isn't so! You can't tell my daughter that, Pete! She's too stupid to handle it! We need to avoid that subject at all costs, Pete!

Question: if America is so sparkly perfect, how come your boy Trump told us that he'd make America Great.....Again?

Trump got votes from guys like you by telling you that he hates what America is. And you bought it. Nice job, my America-hating voter.

My degree is irrelevant. I do have multiple real skills including a private pilots license, so in a pinch I can be a pilot for hire.

No matter, America has never been sparkly prefect and likely never will. It’s a work in progress. But the work in progress remains the greatest country by any measure in history, and Americans generally should have pride in that incontrovertible fact. Tearing it down every freaking second like many Democrats do isn’t IMO attractive to voters. And I believe there is a titanic adjustment coming this fall which shall truly disappoint many of you. The Republican Party is becoming more brown, more black, even multicultural…caused in no small part by Democrats winking at rising crime, causing uncontrollable inflation, and losing respect on the world stage.

Who said he wasn’t relevant? I said he’s not gonna be the nominee.

But selecting Tim Scott as a running mate would make me reconsider, that’s for sure. It’s an intriguing idea. Tim is a phenomenal guy, significantly better than most out there. Having him that close to the office would make me extraordinarily happy, especially if his partner is an overweight 82 year old. If Tim himself ran for the office, I’d support him enthusiastically if he was the Republican nominee.

I’m still Team Desantis, but this trial balloon is intriguing to say the least.

Actually, what this now means to me is that Tim Scott has disqualified himself from my support as a future national candidate. I think it'll disqualify him from a lot of other people's support as well.

Which is a huge shame.

What is it about the South these days??

Meet the Know-Nothing MAGA Stalwart About to Take Over Georgia’s Universities
An agribusiness tycoon, Perdue is best known for his political work as a former two-term Georgia governor during which he urged on pay cuts for school teachers; expressed nostalgia for the Confederacy; pioneered voter-suppression laws; responded to a brutal drought by holding a public ceremony to “pray for rain”; and promoted policies that made life miserable for immigrants. While helming the USDA, he denied climate change (including taking time to bury publicly funded research on it); gutted a key federal agricultural-economic research institution; attempted to limit food aid; and cut farm worker wages at the height of the pandemic.

Why would he be qualified to head one of the nation’s premier public higher education systems? His career highlights don’t include anything related to university administration. Beyond Georgia, his tenure at the USDA was often about maintaining a fulsome reverence for Donald Trump. He even appeared at a Nov. 6, 2020, Georgia rally, where he echoed false charges of fraud in the states’ presidential election vote count. Yet this week, Perdue got his wish. After a months-long, drama-packed process, over protests from faculty, students, and a university accreditation agency, the University System of Georgia board of regents has settled on Perdue as its sole finalist for the chancellor post, virtually ensuring he’ll get the job.
America might not technically be a "racist" nation, but it sure does have a lot of dumass, clueless people...

What a “dumass, clueless, racist” guy Sonny Perdue is. Why did he have to foster those 8 children awaiting adoption?!?

To take decades out of his and his family’s life all to extend unconditional love to 8 kids born in tragic circumstances, over a period of thirty years, kids desperately needing a temporary home full of love and life’s comforts, while a permanent home is found, even when that process can take years and the kids aren’t all white, what a “clueless dumass” Sonny was and is.

Another great take.

Sounds like for one year in the governor's house, Mrs. Perdue liked taking care of foster babies prior to adoption. Nice of her. She wasn't otherwise employed at the time. We don't know how many diapers Sonny changed.

This makes for some interesting reading on Sonny, the good, the bad and the ugly are included: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonny_Perdue

Here's the JD Vance tweet that caused such a flap. It even prompted a retired 4 star General to punch down, calling him a Russian stooge.

It’s just patronage, no different than Jim Rowland in CT or others. Somehow the Secretary of State is elected here and kemp was handed it when he was young and people think it’s meaningful because my LLC certs have their name on it. That’s about all the position does. It’s an administrative position.

I think it also splits Sonny further from his cousin who’s, in the words of some local Republican influencers I know “handing the damn Governors seat to Stacy Abrams over his (D Perdue’s) ego and liking that trump money”. UGA, like UF and other states schools have moved up the rankings because private schools got out of control expensive but it’s still a very generic place. Who know what colleges will be like in ten years but I still like the concept of liberal arts education and learning for learnings sake and wouldn’t have UGA high on my list for my kids. Figure even if I fail professionally between then and now I can go to in laws to cover a top notch private school then if my kids are accepted to a Stanford, Vandy, hyp, etc (Duke is out because of what happened to the lacrosse players and behavior of faculty in 06).
