Dean has been excellent this fall sources say. Will be interesting to see how he he can develop his iq. Ive heard that is the one thing holding him back from being a superstar at the college level. Wouldn't be shocked to see hime be an all American at the end of this year. As for Eischens.... he could potentially be better than dean. He has way better iq and and on ball defense just need to see him get better with his skill set. The future rope unit is going to be great on the banks.

I agree that Charlie overall has a better skill set than Scalamandre. It just concerns me that he comes from Minnesota, a state that doesn’t have the best lacrosse talent. Not sure he had the best competition in high school, do you think this will hurt him when it comes to the Big 10 season?

Unless Eichens got moved, he is a long pole at last check.

People who have excelled at Rutgers have originated in states such as Ca., Michigan, Utah, Oregon and others. Where one comes from means nothing to Coach Brecht in terms of seeing the field. Can someone play is all that matters.

The future rope unit is definitely looking up. How quickly the future arrives will be the question. The staff definitely wants to run more should the horses show themselves.

Hunter Falzone is another to keep an eye on in the defensive midfield spot.

I agree with that. Will be interested to see if he can play big time lacrosse. I think he has the potential to have a Tommy mendyke like break out sophomore season. If he puts in the work it will be awesome to see. Speaking of mendyke the scarlet knights haven’t been with him this fall, and they have been dominant. Will be interesting to see if he can fit in when he gets back to full health. He was a top guy last year and I expect more out of him this year. Kids a tank on and off the field. When fully healthy he’s just as strong as dean.

Assuming good health which there is no reason to not think he will be, he is positioned to have a monster year. You aren't wrong about that. Kid is a beast. Truth be told, there are a lot of beasts in that program. In talking to the guys, they often feel they have the physical advantage when they step on the field. You can see why when you see them up close and personal. Not a lot of room to hide there. Guys put work in when training.

I agree that Mendyke is going to have to take a big step when he comes back. He had a great year last year but took some time off this summer for sure. Hopefully he can figure it out and come back strong. Speaking of strong, when talking to the guys, they told me that Dylan Groff has made a huge jump from last years freshman season to now. I watched him start against Bryant this past weekend and had a great showing. I would imagine Coach Ryan was very impressed with his performance.

Dylan Groff is legit. Best footwork on the team and the kid DOMINATES the film room. Some guys on the team have told me he is coming for everything this year. He just came in a different beast this fall. Will really give Mendyke a run for his money when he gets back. Sources have said he’s gonna be just as good as Rexrode was. Could be a huge development to follow in the next months. Might see him snag a starting spot. Also wondering who will step up on the offense. Could see a lot of colter Olson this spring. He’s been a dawg and brings the energy everyday no matter what.

I don’t know much about Olson. I do know number 9 is coming for a huge season. I can’t remember his name but I know he has a great skill set and is a great guy outside of lacrosse. Hopefully he can find his way to the field this year.

Groff is another guy you hear a lot about in the program. His time will come. Definitely someone you can have match feet with smaller, quicker attackman. Being in the B1G you see it all so the versatility is needed. Coach Brecht loves longer rangy close D guys but there is a definite need for smaller quicker guys. Starting D as it stands is 6'3, 6'5", and though Mendyke is listed at 6'2", standing next to him, he seems taller. If there was such a thing as an unhealthy low body fat level, he might have it.

Olson was the Maine player of the year and comes from the Cameron club team. He was a late commit after decommiting from Air Force. He's going to be good. Only question is how fast. Another big, strong guy that can run in between the lines. If we are talking first years, I'd throw Bennett Raphalian in that category too. He can sling it also.
