How is that not insurrection, the real kind?
It's a great example of how a large portion of the electorate thinks. The opinions of one random person who got crushed in a house primary and "hundreds" on Twitter are the equivalent of the ruling party platform of the second largest state in America.a fan wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 7:50 pmTranslation: Petey has no comment about Americans hating America so much that they want to secede.Peter Brown wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 7:45 pmThere are literally hundreds of known Democrats on Twitter tonight including a Biden speechwriter saying state governments should start ignoring SCOTUS decisions.NattyBohChamps04 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 8:26 pm Imagine hating America so much your party platform for your state is to secede...

Ah, but the hate is real. And you keep telling us that only Dems and libs hate America.Peter Brown wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 9:20 pm So far as Texas goes (now that I’ve discovered what he was referring to), California libs flirted with the same idiotic idea under Trump. You do recall that, right? It’s not really serious stuff, both sides.
You're right on that count. Millions of Americans think that little R's and little D's are all that matter. Just like you.Peter Brown wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 9:20 pm When Republicans sweep most house and senate seats this fall, you won’t hear much about it anymore.
Meh. You already told us that insurrections are no big deal. I'm gonna take your advice and ignore this.Peter Brown wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 9:20 pm What is serious is a Biden speechwriter saying states should ignore SCOTUS. This is a powerful guy advocating for actual insurrection.

Turns out that your team hates America, too.

You have SO much helpful advice, Pete. Thanks for that.
Jan 6th, Pete. Keep pretending you haven't mocked the proceedings, and told us that Congressmen asking for blanket pardons from Trump is just another day at the office.Peter Brown wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 8:29 am When did I ‘already tell you that insurrections are no big deal’?
Again, a fan trying to insert words into other folks’ mouths. It really is a personality flaw. What’s that about? Could you post where I said ‘insurrections are not a big deal’?

Yup, Jan 6 was an insurrection, following an attempted coup, and you said that this insurrection was no 'big deal'.
You did not say, however, that if there had been an insurrection to overthrow, say Trump, that would be no big deal...
It is not silly that a bunch of lied-to partisans participated in a riotous act which was instigated by a select few (Oath Keepers and Proud Boys) who had full intentions of at the least stopping the process of finishing the legal and appropriate final process to validate Biden's victory. By their participation they all were guilty of crimes that were in NO cases trivial.Peter Brown wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 1:12 pmMDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 9:15 am trolls should just go away, like they promised to do.

I think I’ve been fairly clear. If you hit a cop on 1-6, you should go to jail. If you threatened a cop or politician, you should go to jail.
The vast majority of those who entered the Capitol on 1-6 were in no remote universe close to being insurrectionists. I get why you want it to be so, but it’s demonstrably silly.
"vast majority"???Peter Brown wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 1:12 pmMDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 9:15 am trolls should just go away, like they promised to do.

Democrats today saying ‘ignore the SCOTUS’ (many such) are actively inciting violence and insurrection.

How many of those who entered the Capitol building didn't actually want to stop the counting of the vote?
ANY? maybe a film documentarian or two, but other than that, they all wanted the counting to be stopped, for the election to be called for Trump. I haven't heard of any that didn't want that to happen. Lots claim they didn't want to hurt anyone, didn't participate directly in hurting anyone, just "trespassed", but they all wanted the count stopped...yup, insurrection. But they're only being charged with the trespass. Getting off easy.
Yes, there were insurrectionists who were more involved in the violence than others; additional crime.
And some were organized in advance to commit the insurrection; additional crime.
Now, if you'd said that some, perhaps many, in the crowd outside, that didn't go in the building, but did trespass on the grounds, didn't actually try to stop the count (much as they might have hoped for some miracle), I could agree. Like my brother-in-law, they were "protesting". Unless they were identified as violent, those trespassers aren't getting charged at all. Though, IMO, they should be if they went on the grounds in that crowd and in any way were supportive of the crowd's intent, its mass against the Capitol police.
Chanting Stop the Steal, which nearly most all were doing, comes awful darn close to making clear what the crowd's insurrectionist intent was, even if they didn't take that next, more serious step. And those chanting Hang Mike Pence?
And the worst were the coup plotters, led by Trump at the top of the coup attempt.
