And who's going to pay for this EDUCATION?
LeBron James' school in Akron is doing very well. It's run by the Akron Public School District. But guess what? Its budget is 30% higher than all the other schools in the district, because it also has private money.
So: are you willing to pay taxes to cover that 30% increase?
Not willing to pay those higher taxes? So what do we do? Find a million more LeBrons to donate? Cut food stamps and welfare? (Think kids being hungry will help them learn?)

It was not the first time that the President has raised this particular canard—and a canard it is, a radical move that is not within his power to make happen—but it was by far his most inflammatory, destabilizing, and provocative attempt yet to call into question the legitimacy of the November election, in which he is trailing the Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, in virtually every poll.

If it was all about spending more money the war on poverty would have been won decades ago. There is not a problem on this planet that the FLP folks do not believe that more money thrown at it will not fix.

Education is a piece of the puzzle. But if you think a young man or woman can get a quality education and then they'll simply rise above poverty, you're sadly mistaken. The solution lies in every season of The Wire. Education was Season 4. You also need the Judicial System (Season 1), Economics (Season 2), Politics (Season 3), and the Media (Season 5).

started a thread about education. What we should say is just follow the JHU path...you are successful right? The goal...stop making poor kids believe college is the answer, because they intuitively know they do not have the finances to pay for college, envy those who do, and their parents are often so busy and not as educated to realize they have choices.....the result, they check out and go the easy route.
