Ever read Thomas Ricks ? He referred to Jarrett as Obama's "foreign policy guru without portfolio" .
She consulted with & advised him on everything.
But then you probably have better sources than Ricks.

https://foreignpolicy.com/2015/01/14/fo ... licy-team/

Ricks quotes Les Gelb in this link.

Of course you can find some reason to dismiss Gelb & Ricks, ...& go with wikipedia.

...& Gelb linked this :

https://www.thedailybeast.com/valerie-j ... acy-killer

Good lord, Rick's sole "source" is Les Gelb whose sole source is a very negative argument by James Poulos. No actual reporting.

None of them offer any actual basis to suggest that Jarett was a major advisor on foreign policy.

To say that she was Obama's closest advisor, other than perhaps Michelle, a "consigliere", is reasonable. And as such, Obama undoubtedly did discuss his pending decisions about foreign policy with her. Of course. Why would he not?

But is there any basis to believe that he weighed her counsel as "expert"? Nope.
Did she ever actually have any portfolio to take action in foreign policy, to represent the US is negotiations on foreign policy? Nope.

I'm sorry, but it's just a bridge way too far to try to compare the "portfolio" that Kushner has supposedly actually been given to represent the US in foreign policy negotiations, and Jarrett's role as close advisor to the President with no such "portfolio".

WH admits they “sped up” the Acosta videotape. Or, in English, altered it to shift perception. If there’s a rake around, a Trumper will stomp on it. Who’s the CoS here? This kind of buffoonish incompetence cannot continue.

Editing incompetence, for sure. They should have SLOWED it down instead of speeding it up. Kinda like speeding up Sonny Liston being knocked out in Lewiston, ME....in real time it looks completely harmless. Speed it up, looks even more benign . Slow it down, you can see the impact to the temple.

Tell us, are you denying that Acota's left hand did NOT put pressure on the interns left arm?

If the media it the "4th pillar" of government, what is the process for getting WH press credentials for someone unaffiliated with the old guard media? Also, what process does one take to have the "4th pillar" ask questions that the people may want answers too? Do I contact Acosta? FOx? OAN news? Al Jeeserah?

The "4th pillar" that the typical US citizen found it extremely difficult to be a part of. How many oldguard, lamestream pretend defenders of the 1st amendment scoff at the internet blogs that Joe/Jane schmoe can put out there?

This article touches on this , and other, similar subjects.

It's not the FCC or the tRump administration that is banning and defining "hate" websites. It's the monopolistic social media "products" that are doing it. Why? b/c in reality, they HATE the first amendement.......for the common person.

If nothing else you are typical. Please explain, what is the lesson she learned? What did he teach her? That some members of the media are assholes, that if she was a little more forceful pulling on the mike he would have decked her?

Acosta's hand was already moving down when the intern stepped into Acosta's space and grabbed his other hand along with the mic. You can see him pointing and making up and down gestures well before she came into his space. She then definitely touched him first, and his hand and her arm ended up touching as he pulled the mic away. He wasn't even looking at her (he was looking at Trump) when she grabbed him and his mic.

Acosta didn't even "teach" anything in the first place. This whole thing is absolutely ridiculous.

It's ridiculous. He didn't let her have the mic is all it amounted to. The argument sounds like kindergarten kids arguing.....

Ahhh, but it's very clear that the new White House line is that any question that actually challenges the President is "stupid" or "racist', the questioner is "stupid" and "Fake News" and "Enemy of the People"...and, if they persist, they will be banned from access to asking any questions.

If that's not on the path to "authoritarianism" I don't know what is.
I guess appointing a stooge as US Attorney General in order to shut down an investigation would also qualify.

Arkansas Man Behind Bars After Dialing CNN Asking for Don Lemon’s ‘Dead Body Hanging from a Tree’

https://atlantablackstar.com/2018/11/11 ... om-a-tree/

An Arkansas man was arrested Tuesday after authorities say he made over 40 threatening phone calls to CNN headquarters, some of which included death threats aimed at CNN host and journalist Don Lemon.

Benjamin Craig Matthews, 39, was taken into custody and remains jailed on $15,000 bond, the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday. Matthews is charged with several felony counts of making terrorist threats, along with nine misdemeanor counts of harassing communications and four counts of second-degree terrorist threats.

Another angry, hate filled, right wing terrorist detained by the authorities for his threats which all amount to terrorism.
It has been proven a hundred times that the surest way to the heart of any man, black or white, honest or dishonest, is through justice and fairness.

Just tried to join the White House Press Corps.........and will apply for this too

https://www.dailypress.senate.gov/?page_id=70

Freedom of the Press? SUch bs1

Free...as long you belong to a "bonafide of repute " Some press are more free than others. icon_puke

Just more US Constitutional lies and why any decent lawyer will make mincemeat our of CNN"s lawsuit. (which claims violations of 1st and 5th Amendments )

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/vol ... 17f539ecf6

A NON-Government entity controls who gets access to our elected officials? Sound free to you?

By definition, if a newspaper "endorses" a Candidate, aren't they in violation of Standing Committee of Sen. press pass blah blah blah.... when no credentialed outlet is allowed to "engage, directly or indirectly, in any lobbying or other activity intended to influence any matter before Congress" or any agency or department of the executive branch.

Going to be interesting.
If Trump refuses to take questions from Acosta, I wouldn't be surprised to see the press corps demand that he do so, passing the mike to Acosta again and again until Trump takes his questions.

They really can't afford to let Trump bully them.

On the other hand, Trump appears to relish the exchange with "CNN" as the "Enemy" so he may take the question but do as he's recently been doing, interrupting before the question is complete, and attacking the questioner.

At the moment though, Trump appears to have hunkered down and isn't taking anyone's questions...

The injunction while temporary was given because Acosta was likely to prevail in his case - which still is on. The judge specifically commented on his likelihood of winning the case.
