So they have a rock star goalie and still gave up 19 goals (and 36 shots on goal) against a team that had scored 16 goals in aggregate their prior two contests?

I may have ranked them too high...

Carolina also only gave up 15 goals in their last two games in aggregate. I don’t think now that they gave up 13 in one game their defense is terrible or that their offense just became spectacular. It was a different paced game than Hopkins and OSU. My point was also not in reference to the quality of Cuse’s defense. It was a simple statement - i think they have a very good goalie and an offense that will get better and better. I stand by both comments.

1. Virginia - Yes
2. Cornell - Played 2 games and they weren't impressive wins. Too high.
3. Notre Dame - Played 3 games and they weren't impressive wins. Too high. Reminder, until they win a game, G'town is not an impressive W.
4. Maryland - Yes
5. Duke - Yes
6. Princeton - Played 3 games with no impressive wins. Too high.
7. Penn - Played 2 games with no impressive wins. Too high. See G'town above.
8. Loyola - Yes
9. St. Joseph's - Played 3 games with no impressive wins. Too high.
10. North Carolina - A little too high.
11. Yale - Played 2 games and they weren't impressive wins. You have V'nova at 22 so...Why so much love? Too high.

15. John's Hopkins - Too low.
20. Penn State - Too low.
24. Richmond - Too low.
So re: Cornell and ND, who would you move up ahead of them? Maryland, who got pwned by Loyola? Duke, who got beaten by Jacksonville and needed a last-second goal (and OT) to squeak by Denver?

Also, I disagree with you assessments of both of these teams. Lehigh was averaging ~20 goals/game; Cornell shut them completely out for the last 40 minutes. Long stretches of possessions where Lehigh couldn't even get a shot off. Looked like the defense of the NCAA run last year; if their D is really this solid, then watch out when their offense really starts clicking.

Georgetown has been struggling, sure, but ND controlled that game start to finish. I expected a close game but it was no contest from the start.

The Maryland/ND positioning will be decided right quick. Cornell has a couple of big games over the next two weeks and we should know about them pretty quickly, too.
you're arguing with a computer.
And he's winning the argument.

I was only kidding when I said I may have rated them too high. Though I'm only half kidding when I say it is a little concerning that they have a rock star goalie who plays lights-out and they still give up 19 goals.

That said, with Duke and Hopkins coming up in short order, they better clean some things up. 3-4 could be a tough hole to dig themselves out of. Yeah, they follow that up with 3 very winnable games, but they face quite the gauntlet to close out the season. Albany is their best win so far; they really need to add a higher quality win in the next two weeks.

Yeah, they should just be declared Permanent National Champion. Everyone else can play for Runner Up every year.

Army over Nova, Denver & BU probably should be above Brown and UNC and OSU maybe a little higher.

Should probably put Lehigh in Dartmouth’s spot in anticipation of a Hobart win this Tuesday!

IMHO, good rankings. I do wonder if some Ivies will drop out of Top 20. Good week for former Cornell Head Coaches who are still head coaches.
