This once decorated program is definitely looking like that over the past 2 years. The hiring of a head coach with limited head coaching experience ($$$?), followed by the hiring of completely inexperienced assistant coaches. I understand that throughout sports the hiring of alumni is a very strong thing. But is this truly the best for the program and the young men that came to such a program that in the past was a destination for top talent. One has to wonder if the current coaching staff learned anything from the previous head coach about accountability and a culture of a team first mentality. And as for your assessment that the defense will be better in a few years what is truly the reasoning for this assessment. The in game situational awareness is nowhere to be found. On the offensive side of the ball the players just dodge into double/triple coverage because opposing teams realize that they are not going to pass so slide early. The coaches have to adapt their approach/planning for the players that they have available. This is coaching 101.
I meant I expect better from the team in coming years because of their youth. The defense can't get any worse.

JB kinda left them with bare cupboards so to speak when he left as the assistant coaches his last couple of years were not recruiting at the level Stone needed to be to continue their run.

Storrier did an amazing job last year getting them as far as these I with Tampa. They were not expected to be that good for his first year, but with Collins as a close D leader the D was almost in top form and as always the O side of things did quite well outside of the final game.

But they are very young now and just need time and some more great recruiting classes. The coaching staff met be young but they do know what they are doing.
