Well let’s see…. BU brings everybody back that whipped Loyola last year. Beat them twice, actually. Army loses to UMASS and BU doubles them up this year.

It’s the Terrier League until Early May and see if someone knocks them out…

Slow start in game one but they’ll likely be 5-1 when they see Harvard in Mid March.

Thanks. I wasn't sure about HC and heard from an alum that Bucknell was not fully funded years ago. Based on the success of Loyola over the years, I always assumed the Greyhounds had the full compliment of financial support. i.e. 12.6.

Loyola was fully funded when they got to the PL form the ECAC around a decade ago. They’re still a newcomer to a league that hasn’t had all the changes like so many except blowing Hobart in 04 and BU starting up lacrosse.

Lehigh beat Holy Cross, 18-11. However, the truth is, Holy Cross looked more competitive and better than they have in sometime versus the contending teams in the conference. Was today a sign that better things are to come for Holy Cross Lacrosse under Coach Reppert?

gymman You clearly see the glass as half-full. Last year, they lost to Lehigh by 10, so technically the game was more competitive. Unfortunately, I believe that losing margins of 7 or more can be expected for the remainder of the year, even against UMass Lowell. In his three years as coach, Reppert has only won three games. I understand that they aren't fully funded, etc., but other teams compete with similar constraints. I'd even go so far as to say they couldn't beat the top three or four DIII teams in Massachusetts, so something isn't working there.
I admit that I missed yesterday's game, but I have seen almost all of their other games (when available). I route for HC and hope they can turn it around, but nothing I've seen on the field makes me think they can.

Right now, Holy Cross looks a step below everyone else. I hope that changes, but everyone else looks much better.

Any updated predictions? Looks like Friday's Bucknell @ Lafayette game may well be for the final spot in the Patriot League Tournament.

It's pretty cool that several of the regular-season finales have significance. Army/BU, Lehigh/Loyola, and Navy/Bucknell all are meaningful games in terms of hosting rights.

Very true. Also, Colgate/Holy Cross are playing, too. Regarding the future for both of those programs, it would be probably be a bigger win for Holy Cross.

The interesting outcome in the Patriot League is if Army wins this weekend and loses in Patriot League Championship to BU.

A 3 loss team (UMASS in Feb, 1 goal to Cornell , BU)

Hard to imagine that they wouldn't get an at large but that's what many of these projections show.

Based on the selection criteria it seems Army almost certainy must win the league tournament to get into the NCAAs

The PL is very likely a one-bid league this year. Army's one quality win over Rutgers has lost its luster, and even if Rutgers wins the B1G tournament, its value is unlikely to improve significantly. And a win over #18 RPI BU won't help Army much either.

We see this story played out every year with one team or another. Last year it was Notre Dame; this year, it's Army. Scheduling opponents like Wagner and Mercer doesn't help build an at-large resume.
