+1. Kind of a head scratcher.
I am starting to think that the [redacted] is actually also the admin in addition to all of his other monikers.
The fact that the post was (most likely) reported is absurd and pathetic. I'd be interested to read the sob story on that report.

Me too. Functionally, the Problem Child is in charge.

Good?!
Yes— I considered using the word great but then I thought the three losses to North Carolina were very disappointing. What word would you use?
To be fair, BC was very good and on a different year they win the championship. They just happened to face a historically good UNC team
They were better last year . This year there was a dif vibe.

Duke had an eventful 2022. Much ado was made about their cupcake out of conference schedule—and rightfully so. Duke was cruising right along until they crashed and burned at the end of the season with blowout losses to North Carolina (4-18); Notre Dame (11-19) in the 1st rd of the ACC tournament; and Maryland (6-19) in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA’s. Without a doubt, the crescendo of the season occurred when they knocked off Boston College before it all went dark.

One of the most puzzling games in ’22 occurred in Florida in the 1st round of the NCAA’s. What happened to Stanford? The team had talent without a doubt. Shoo-in rookie of the year Ashley Humphrey, veteran Ali Baiocco, Annabel Frist and Kelly Ailish among others should have made the game vs Jacksonville very competitive. Instead it was a blowout right out of the gate. 8-0 Dolphins at the end of the 1st Q and 10-0 before Stanford finally scored almost midway through the 2nd Q. One has to go back to 2016 to find the last time the Cardinal won a NCAA tournament game.

I wonder how such a highly touted team could get their socks blown off? I wonder?

(and it's Ailish Kelly, not Kelly Ailish ... one of the best names in women's lacrosse, IMHO)

Ailish Kelly. Thanks for the correction. That is a great name.

Nice acknowledgement for JMU's Isabella Peterson. The redshirt sophomore was one of the Dukes dominant players in 2022. I have to imagine she'll become more of a problem for opponents with her 6 foot frame not only in the draw circle, but all over the field. Peterson isn't above doing the grunt work, collecting 13 GB's and 7 CT's to compliment her 72 goals, 15 assists and 102 draw controls.

For the Dukes on the whole, '22 ended in disappointment. I'm sure the team thought they were better than a running clock loss to Loyola in the Sweet Sixteen portion of the NCAA's. In some quarters, JMU was favored. They did have the huge road win over Maryland during the regular season. That win or the win over UConn in the first round of the NCAA's was probably the high point of '22 for James Madison.

Easily the high point in Notre Dame‘s season— their roughshod run over Duke in the ACC QF.

Quite a milestone for the Temple Owls back in April.

“Today, we hit win number 500. Temple is only the sixth Division I program in women's lacrosse to hit this milestone.

This milestone belongs to every player, parent, coach, and support staff member who has contributed to our program over the years🦉🍒

Quite a milestone for the JMU Dukes back in May of 2018.

“We had way too many turnovers today,” Walker-Weinstein said.. “We had 18 turnovers. We can't beat a zone or beat anyone good with 18 turnovers.”

JMU wins their first national championship in Women's Lacrosse over Boston College.

The underdog role is something the Dukes not only embrace, but one coach Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe has used as motivation countless times.

“For a lot of us it's all we know,” Klaes-Bawcombe. “And so you can either whine about things or you can attack things, and I think it's all about creating a mentality that helps you to be productive. I really do feel that it gives us that competitive edge.”

Figured if we are posting stuff that is completely irrelevant in mid-June of 2022 the floor is open for all entries.

I would like to congratulate the 1980 Philadelphia Phillies for winning their first World Series title in franchise history.

I still remember exactly where I was when Tug McGraw struck out Willie Wilson.

(My hope and intention is to really sidetrack this thread.😁)

I would like to congratulate the:

Washington Redskins/Football Team/Commanders on winning their 3rd Super Bowl in 1992
Washington Capitals on winning their first Stanley Cup in 2018
DC United on winning their 4th MLS Cup in 2004
Washington Spirit on winning their first championship in 2021
Washington Bullets/Wizards on winning their first NBA championship in 1978

Am I doing this right? Or do I need 100 words describing each great accomplishment?

Well if you are going to recognize those 1980 misfits, I have to give a shout out to my 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates
