Well, he definitely left Molloy in the blow-out of JHU a bit too long ...
2022 NCAA Mens LAX tournament

Are we dividing up sticks now ? I want to be on the the team too10stone5 wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 8:11 amYou are on the teamrcolter wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 8:09 amThink we (I say we like I'm on the team ) need a big day from Nunes here. He hasn't been super consistent this year but personally I believe his ceiling is higher than Rode's, although his "floor" is lower as well - if that makes any sense. Certainly a daunting order for a true freshman to come up big in his first every playoff game but that's also what you dream of as a kid! Certainly excited for him. Another interesting aspect will be covering Aughavin. I'm curious to see what Wayer's status is as he was apparently injured but has been getting some limited shifts so maybe still not at 100 percent? Bower and Whalen have done a great job filling in this year but going to need a strong game from the rope unit as well.
With all that being said I'm just beyond excited for this game. All the story lines around this game with Lars coming home, Ivy vs ACC, etc has made this game extra interesting for better or for worse. Hopefully the Hoos can pull it out and give me a good birthday present
Re: 2022 NCAA Mens LAX tournament
Yale is certainly the deepest ivy and probably has the best shot..I still say Maryland 15-11 Yale

I'm convinced the head-scratching act of not pulling the starters to give some minutes to "next man up guys" - which resulted in the injury - prevented Brown from steamrolling to a national championship. They were peaking and firing on all cylinders in a way that looked unstoppable.

Think LT left Molloy in because he had an outside shot at Lyle's 1 year points record.b1w7o9y7h wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 11:36 amI'm convinced the head-scratching act of not pulling the starters to give some minutes to "next man up guys" - which resulted in the injury - prevented Brown from steamrolling to a national championship. That was a costly risk to the team on behalf of an individual. Just saying...from the armchair quarterback Barca Lounger in my mom's basement.

It would be funny if Malloy getting injured vs Hop leads to Brown not winning a title to Lars leaving for UVA for UVA to eat hops lunch and add to Hops challenges today.
I love second and third order affects
Harvard University, out
University of Utah, in
I am going to get a 4.0 in damage.

IIRC he turned down Penn State in the oughts, which then went to Tambroni, but I think even with (a guy can dream) the 2016 natty Virginia was a better than 50/50 bet. Just the prospect of virtually yearly being at least a QF lock. And following his old coach, no matter how Starsia was treated at the end.Farfromgeneva wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 2:26 pmIt would be funny if Malloy getting injured vs Hop leads to Brown not winning a title to Lars leaving for UVA for UVA to eat hops lunch and add to Hops challenges today.

Anybody else remember when Terp fans were annoyed that they got Tillman instead of Tambroni?
Re: 2022 NCAA Mens LAX tournament
Maryland got turned down once or twice before landing on Tillman. The other final option was Marc van Arsdale. Just goes to show how unpredictable and random coaching searches are.

Maybe he overcharged her for his services?MoralTerpitude wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 6:55 pmYup. Thank goodness that didn’t happen. Not sure how Debbie Yao figured out Tillman was the right guy, but she did make quite a few good hires.

Re: 2022 NCAA Mens LAX tournament
Anybody want to weigh in and make some first round picks?
Let the prognostication begin! Don’t know if this should be a separate topic so move if needed. Here are my picks. I know picking the score in lacrosse can be a total crapshoot so the total numbers are less important than the spread, if that makes sense. I’m going with gut 100 percent of the time to make these picks. I will probably be horrifically wrong on a few, but that’s the fun part. Here we go:
First round:
Maryland 18 - UVM 12
Virginia 14 - Brown 14
Princeton 13 - Boston U. 11
Yale 16 - St. Joe’s 13
Penn 14 - Richmond 12
Rutgers 14 - Harvard 12
Cornell 14 - Ohio St. 13
Georgetown 16 - Delaware 11

As a fan… no such thing. But seriously, he was not in a position to overcharge anyone… yet.Farfromgeneva wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 7:20 pmMaybe he overcharged her for his services?MoralTerpitude wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 6:55 pmYup. I like your picks, and only differ in that I predict someone will win the UVa-Brown game.Jlax92 wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 8:06 pm Anybody want to weigh in and make some first round picks?

That, and most of the scorelines are too close. Maryland by 8, Princeton by 6, Yale by 5, Rutgers by 4.
