Yep! Awesome call with positive thoughts only! I am looking forward to the season. Once again, while, obviously, the program wants the best results possible, Michigan's first appearance in the Big Ten Tournament would be nice.
Every team makes the conference tournament this year, so it's going to be Michigan's first appearance whether they want it or not.

That is good. That said, let's see if they can be one of the final four(in the past, it was only four) teams in that tournament.

Maryland was definitely predicted to win vs. Michigan. But, while I apologize for being too critical, how many of you predicted the wipe-out that happened today?

With people like me continually saying how great to big four of the ACC are, Maryland made sure in their first outing that they belong in the conversation. Michigan was not in a position to go down 15 to 10 or so.

Conry is in Year #4 and has been recruiting very well. I think you need to give him some more time. Far from all the players are ones he recruited.

This feels like almost a must win for both squads. Should be competitive

Looks like Michigan will go 0-10 this year. Could this be it for Conry?

If you are right, and they go 0-10, I would have to think they consider a change? No?

If so, didn’t they make a run at Petro a few years back? I listened to an interview with Petro recently and he made it very clear that he wants back in.

They beat OSU in 2019 and PSU in 2018. With 10 chances (11 if you count the conference tourney) I feel like they'll catch another team napping once or twice. It's really hard to go winless.

I doubt they go 0-10, but if they don’t get to at least 3-4 wins I think you can probably put him on the hot seat. You’d have expected by Year 4 that they’d be in a position to compete for the Big Ten and they’ve recruited very well. If they can only win 1-2 out of 10 games against B1G opponents that’s not progress from when he took over. And it’ll be Year 5 (or 4 without COVID) next year which is generally enough to make an accurate gauge.

I can’t see them winning against any Big 10 teams.

The Petro rumors will start in late March. He will get his boys to de-commit at UNC and join dad for free in Ann Arbor. :D

I agree. Admittedly, I thought they’d compete better with the talent like Zawada, Clay, Bucknavage, etc... And with Conry having a track record as a very good defensive coach - not sure where the disconnect is?

Good coordinators don't always make the best head coaches. Often a different skill set. I don't know if that's what's happening here but it wouldn't be the first time a star coordinator didn't have a great transition into running a program himself.

And until recently I think they've lacked talent on the defensive side of the ball (and on faceoffs). Schriber and Whitney are going to be nice players but they're both still young. Might be another year or two before the recruiting catches up with the results on defense.

I'd be shocked if they go 0-11. That is exceedingly difficult to do. The only teams you see come anywhere close to that these days are first-year programs and teams like NJIT which are clearly overmatched at the D1 level. Michigan does not fall into that category—they've been able to steal a few games each season from decent teams but that alone is obviously not what Wolverine fans are looking for.

That’s was interesting about the lack of success. The defense has been an issue for years, and the HC is a former DC. Hopefully things can work out.

No doubt Rutgers is on-fire and looks better than most. But still, I was hoping the Wolverines could have played them a little closer.

Closer game with Ohio State than with previous conference opponents this season. But it still was a loss and not a super performance. Starting to worry that Michigan might go winless in conference this year.

According to their site no public access for the game. Bet parents are allowed
