Thanks. She can still dance better than most 20 somethings. She was also accepted in to AMDA in NYC around 1988-89ish. Spent about a year there...and seen what a cut-throat business Broadway and acting was going to look like for the foreseeable future, while working odd jobs in-between auditions. She realized her passion was working with children (myself included) and she returned home to degree in education.
Her close friend at the time, was the director for the Redskinettes, in 1997, a gentleman I went to HS with, he stayed with them for almost 10 years, but Snyder and inside office effed that up....was in the news recently about the Redskins front office shenanigan's....likely while he rolled.

Wonder if you friend knew a girl who went by Cherry early 2000s as a redskinette or whatever they were called. Asian, like Se asian, short, hot. I met her as she was working for the red cross as her day job (in like accounting) and I took an overnight call center manager summer gig to help defray my grad school expenses as the daytime internship wasn't great dough. Very nice girl. Got the sense in my time around DC the Redskin cheerleaders were much more normal human beings and the Wizards ones were more like tropes of Paris Hilton on drugs.

Second, did you read that article all the way through? Chris told his brother to express more "contrition" and other consultant didn't like it??? Ohh the horror. And he subsequently apologized for having played any role in advising his brother...to what, "express more contrition" again, ohh, the horror.
Nothing in this suggests that Chris actually knew the depth or breadth of brother Andrew's behavior. But it does indicate that he thought Andrew would be better off expressing more "contrition" whereas the consultant (and probably Andrew) wanted to be more combative. As it turns out, any such was probably too late...the "contrition" needed to be way earlier and a full stop to any such behavior way earlier.
Andrew's gotta go. I don't see the sort of behavior that would deserve some sort of prison time, an actual assault, but definitely not ok in any workplace. And not an isolated event, maybe under the influence etc. But rather a pattern.

I agree that it's an ethnic slur, as it was being used by the guy getting in Chris' face. Not the "same as" the n-word, it does not carry the same sort of weight, but nevertheless a slur.
And sure, I agree that Chris should not have tried to "help" his brother in his communication. That's why he apologized, it crossed a line.
I don't make the same leap about "that's why the American public don't trust the media". It's not as if the public doesn't know that Chris pretty much has to be biased re his brother. Nothing hidden there.
IMO, he made a mistake of breaking his prior rule of not covering his brother and letting others at CNN do so when he brought his brother on during the pandemic...Chris has since said that was a mistake that he regretted. I give him a partial pass on that one, too, as it was such an enormous challenge for there to be sufficient communication about the pandemic and it was of overriding public interest...but it should not have been done by Chris...his fellow anchors could do that adequately. Just as they are doing right now on this report on Andrew and its likely repercussions. They're pulling no punches and the coverage is intense and almost entirely negative re Andrew. Chris should stay away and let others cover it.
I think a big portion of the American public has been told over and over and over again by right-wing politicians, and then the emergent right-wing alt media beginning with Fox that the mainstream media was 'biased' and 'could not be trusted'. Right wing Dems in the south did it when media attention was on them during the civil rights movement, then became a primary whine from the GOP, most famously early on "the nattering nabobs of negativism". Exposure of reality in Vietnam and the lies of the military and the politicians in power...then Watergate...it escalated from there as a right-wing whine. And then it became profitable to whine, both politically and economically for the right wing media...meanwhile, the entire media shifted to more 'entertainment' motivated as the business models rewarded conflict rather than consensus.
People chose sides...and then the right wing went a step further and decided truth didn't matter at all. That's why Shep Smith left Fox. And so on.

Because he's "triggered" by what he immediately perceives to be an ethnic slur? That would have pissed me off too, in his shoes. The a-hole was the guy in his face. And it was certainly an ethnic slur.
