Where did Zimmerman go from Trine? Did he move up? Is Vinney taking his place?

Getting out of coaching.

I've heard Vinny is a possibility, would also think assistant coach Scott Morrison would get a shot. Was the Adrian head coach for a bit.

Both would be interesting options. I was under the impression that Lang stepped away from the head role to focus on his teaching opportunities at Trine. While Scott has some familiarity there, his track record at Adrian is somewhat underwhelming.

Baldwin Wallace is an attractive late opening. Coach Keeley did a great job of really building a strong foundation. Whoever gets this job is walking into a great situation.

I agree, this late in the game though it may be best for the program to elevate one to interim head coach and see how it goes.

Good for him I guess. My son was recruited by Tatro to play there, but after a year of contact and promises the last minute he ghosted us. Apparently Keeley over recruited and didn't need another D-pole. Not a great experience. He found a better suited program anyways. Loved the school, but ghosting us was pretty crappy.

Hearing that Trine is pretty much done, candidate has diverse experience.

As for BW, Tatro has been there a while and had success there and Wittenberg. Now Schmoldt is helping out, successful at Oberlin, and with head experience, the two could work. But maybe they open it up? Coming off a good year with a young team is attractive.

No such thing as over recruiting in D3, the more on the roster the better. If they “ghosted” your son it must have been for another reason.

I think there is such a thing as "over-recruiting," but whether it is a good thing or a bad thing is subjective, depending on the process, your position, and your attitude. Since many schools are "enrollment driven," BW is no exception, that shouldn't be a surprise. Keeley also has experience at OWU and Roanoke, and I don't think that is uncommon there either. That said, his rosters seemed to hover in the mid to upper 40s. I don't think that is over recruiting unless 20-30+ former lacrosse players are walking around campus (or left campus) because they got cut.

Should the coaches have responded and said, "sorry, we have been talking with you for the last year, and now the class is filled?" Yes. They probably could/should have, but maybe they didn't have time since coaches are throwing out so many "offers" nowadays... It sounds like it all worked out for the best, but the recruiting conversations went on for about a year. If I courted a lady-friend for a year and she hasn't pulled the trigger, I might have moved on too.

This is just incorrect.

I interviewed at a couple schools that put a roster limit on their program for budgetary reasons, and they were adamant that recruiting classes were capped at a certain number. It does exist at the D3 level.

The reality of the situation is that the coach should've followed up and explained the situation. It's a VERY difficult conversation sometimes, and some people just don't know how to handle it.

Add Warren Wilson College to the list, I guess...? I wasn't aware this school/program existed.

From what I can tell, they had 12 players (9 freshmen) on their '21 roster, and their only game was canceled. A recent press release indicates they are bringing in 4 "great players" and 3 walk-ons. It also looks like they retained all but one from the past spring and head into year 2 with 18 players.

Only there for one "season," if you can call it a season, but he was announced in December '19. This will be an uphill battle if they intend on playing in '22, and they don't seem to be a part of a conference. Would it be better to take a mulligan and do club status for a year and let the coach recruit and do moderate stuff this fall/spring?

It should be interesting to see what they do, it appears Keystone is in a similar position.
