Terry Foy is saying Dylan Sheridan from OSU/CSU.

Terry Foy isn't saying Sheridan, people on his feed are saying it's him.

Not that Sheridan isn't a great coach, but would seem like a strange move for him and his family to pack up from Ohio and move to Massachusetts.

Unless a move has been made already by his wife to give up her job and pick up something closer to Amherst?

I agree-

Sheridan's wife is head wlax coach at Kent State. If they were both coaching at the D3 level, you could assume Amherst pay for him was enough for them to move to 1 income for a bit while she finds something in western mass, but I think it'd be hard to see him making the move.

Others in Terry's feed have said Nat St. Laurent (Ohio Northern / PLL Coach) and Rick Sowell (Former Navy Coach) are in the mix.

I'm putting my money on a major underdog: Marty Watters (recently stepped down from Sewanee). He's had a ton of success at Sewanee after litterally building the program there. Seemed like a weird time to announce his resignation from Sewanee unless he had something in the works already.

Again, just a total guess based on timing of his resignation and the fact that he already has a ton of purple polo shirts for the sideline.

True enough. People on the feed are saying that, but given the chatter, anything could be up in the air. DS and BT relocating from OH to MA may seem strange, given that they are both D1 coaches, but their offices being around 2 hours away from each other can't be ideal either. I'm sure she should find a

I don't get the feeling that Watters is in the running for this position, but it will be interesting to see what could drop today.

Now....knowing him, and having a fair amount of NESCAC experience, THAT one makes sense to me. A LOT of sense. Sheridan seems like a very strange fit to me. Rashad is very well thought of. Was Jack Sandler's top assistant at Colby. Good man.

Yep. Also coached at NAPS. Happy for him.

At DIII Beloit, Devoe compiled a record of 22-25 as its head coach. He inherited a team that went 5-8 in 2015. Under Devoe, Beloit then went 5-10 (2016); 10-6 (2017); and 7-9 (2018). The 2018 record includes a win by forfeit when Concordia Chicago couldn't field enough players to hold a game. Beloit College is ranked #82 in the country by US News among National Liberal Arts Colleges with a 56% acceptance rate. Amherst is ranked #2 with a 13% admissions rate.

At Hampton, Devoe was 0-6 in the truncated 2020 season. Hampton provided the only win of the season to NJIT with a 24-7 loss and to Furman with a 19-4 loss. Devoe's team lost to DIII Greensboro College, a team Hampton had defeated the prior season.

His LinkedIn profile describes him as a "Disney Enthusiast, Video Game Junkie, Boxer Rescuer, & Capt. of the Botany Bay." I believe the Botany Bay moniker is a Star Wars reference.

Looking forward to hear the Coach thank the Amherst administration for the opportunity--he just said that last August when he went to Hampton
Will he be at Amherst more than a year?! Less than a year at NAPS AND Hampton!

Surprise hire...not exactly a "big time" coach for a team that was NCAA runner-up...again, in today's PC world, nothing surprises me. Amherst is willing to transition back to mediocrity. Someone suggested that given the way JT was ousted, the job was not too appealing..

Must have been a handful of overly qualified candidates with more clout in the lax world then Devoe..makes you wonder why they hired him. From the outside it seems like Amherst is trying to handle the situation through hiring strictly on racial diversity, kind of ironic

Hmm, this discussion is unfortunately a minefield. I don’t know much about Devoe other than his record which is certainly nothing to write home about. Amherst is obviously an extremely prestigious school so he must be ecstatic to get the job but he is being put in a very tough place with this hire under these circumstances. I wish him the best. If he thinks Botany Bay is from Star Trek he needs to brush up on his history a bit before joining the NESCAC. Botany Bay was a prison colony started in Australia just after the British colonized it to exile undesirables. Not sure what the ship is like on Trek but it is referenced in a hell of a good psych-up song that he could play before games. And they are even from Massachusetts.

Coach Devoe did not leave Beloit in a good position -- had 30+ players on the roster in 2017; stopped recruiting during the 2018 season and forced the school to change leadership.

Following year's roster, 2019, fielded only 17 players. 7-8 record underscored by 4-18 loss vs. Carthage, 8-25 loss vs. Alma, 10-17 loss vs. MSOE, 3-30 loss vs Aurora. That team was built by Devoe.
