15-9 final. Manhasset opened the game up early in the 4th, and then piled on as Wantagh had to press out of their zone and tried to double. Wantagh brings back a lot of talent next year.

Manhasset plays SWR for the first time since ?? Should be a great game

Possibly since early 2000's. Manhasset Girls and SWR Girls had a great rivalry until about 2010.

it’s a bit crazy how little they’ve played over the years. This one is going to be great theater, Girard is such a machine but SWR has 2 pretty good guys at FO, so we’ll see how that goes but I expect that to be a good advantage for Manhasset. The D has been a little spotty (Wantagh and Chaminade), so that’s a bigger question for me because SWR has a couple big time players, but maybe knowing who to hone in on with Mulholland will help.

Thanks, I should have remembered that game in '05! I don't think either were in the regular season. Definitely not 2005. Not sure about 2001.

Also congrats on the county title!

Both of those are great pages, thx…does Suffolk have a similar database?

On a separate note, let’s get some predictions for Saturday. I feel like Class A, B, and C could easily go to 8 or 11. All 3 look like coin tosses to me. Now that I said that watch there be several blow outs, and Mattituck will beat CSH

Northport 10-9 in OT
WI 7-6
Manhasset 11-10 in OT (I have to be a homer and pick them)
CSH 10-6

On the wayback machine you can look at all national laxpower ratings and team pages from 1999 to 2016. If you click the link I posted, it goes to Manhasset's team page, but you can click the other teams on the schedule and also different years. Or go up to "boys" on top and click "ratings archives" to see other years.

LIC predictions

Farmingdale 6-5
GC 8-6
Manhasset 13-11
CSH big, 15-2 or something.

Thanks, it seems the old LP site is great for looking at any given year to see how a team did and scores. The Nassau site is great for everything else about a program’s history. I was impressed i could sort for results vs teams like FlyerFan did to get all the times Manhasset played SWR since 00, and you can see titles, AAs, etc

You’re picking the Dalers? Not that it can’t happen but your squad has been strong all year

Three of the teams competing in the LIC won NYS Championships in 2022.

Eager to see if any of the 3 will repeat.

Always one of my favorite times on the sports calendar.

Historically very tough to repeat….GC has done it only once (12-13), Manhasset has done it once (09-10), and CSH has a 3-peat to their name (15-17). The guys upstate think Victor is very strong this year, feels like GC would have the toughest matchups at each stage of the journey….but if they get to the finals that game is in their backyard. CSH maybe the easiest, but Pleasantville in Section 1 looks to have a good team. Manhasset might have its toughest hurdle this Saturday

It kills me not only to pick against Northport but also to predict a Nassau sweep. The A game was the one I'm least confident on, just feel like Farmingdale has a lot of momentum and a great goalie which will be a tough for us coming off how we struggled to generate good shots against Smithtown East.

A Nassau sweep seems likely but that's why they play the games. Level of confidence in order for me...
CSH
Farmingdale
Manhasset
GC

Very confident in top 3. GC seems to always be involved in close games and more often than not pulls them out

As an aside, does anyone have any idea why CSH doesn't play Oyster Bay and Friends during the season ? Whether it's a blowout or not shouldn't you have to play the teams in your own conference ?

There are 21 teams in their "conference," so it would be impossible to play everyone (much like Suffolk A). I don't know how the league schedules are determined in Nassau (in Suffolk preseason coaches seeds are used).
