Robertson and Fracker, two officers with Virginia's Rocky Mount Police Department, were charged with entering restricted grounds and violent entry or disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, according to federal court documents released January 13.
Robertson and Fracker -- off-duty at the time -- posed for a photo in front of a statue of a Revolutionary War general in the Capitol during the riot, with one making an obscene hand sign, according to the federal complaint.
The two appear to have been the first law enforcement officers charged with criminal violations related to the riots.
They shared the photo with colleagues, and Robertson later posted it online, court records say.
The photo was taken after the Capitol was in lockdown, court documents read.
Prosecutors also found a social media post from Robertson that says he was "f***ing PROUD" of the photo, according to the complaint.
The complaint says that Fracker, in his own social media post, acknowledged the photo of him inside the Capitol and wrote "sorry I hate freedom?"
Robertson told CNN affiliate WSET that Capitol Police officers gave them water and asked them to stay within roped areas.
"There was absolutely no indication that we were anything but welcome to check out certain places," Robertson told WSET. "We did not participate in any violence or property damage."
The complaint cites reports that Robertson claimed he had been escorted "in" by Capitol police and that he made social posts that he had "attacked the government."

At this stage, we know the social security numbers of every protester on 1-6. Damage: $1,500,000.
At the same stage, we don’t even know one name of BLM/Antifa anarchists. Damage: $2,000,000,000.
Odd.

Though I recognize the many differences, it’s occasionally-seemingly difficult to know where one starts and the other ends, particularly as relates to physical damage and street fighting. I’d also note the shared embrace of Marxism.
For instance, in the famous instance of BLM marchers rampaging through DC restaurants demanding that diners raise their fists a la Tommy Smith/John Carlos or windows got smashed and fights ensued, the sentiment was BLM, yet the tactics were Antifa.
It’s just easier to use the hyphen or backslash when collectivizing the monetary damages in the summer of 2020. I’ve not yet seen a breakdown by cause.

The only thing that hurts is guys like you supporting criminals like Flynn and positing a different "reasonable" explanation for a bunch of criminals storming the Capitol and injuring Capitol cops.old salt wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 1:21 pmCalm down. Here's an interesting question though: would Petey, much less Trump and the GOP leadership in the House and Senate like to have a 9-11 style commission on the root causes of BLM protests Inclusive of riots and vandalism, of course, but also the root causes of the protests that were actually peaceful.
Root causes, recommendations for preventing in the future?
I'm in.
How about root causes and recommendations around the forces leading to violence and destruction in which Antifa has played a major role? Deep dive into white supremacy and related domestic terrorism and the counter movement labelled "Antifa"...how do we prevent such violence going forward?

America’s finest.

Are you saying what they claim is plausible?
Surely you have an opinion? A gut take?
Or can you only have one after there's a conviction or admission of guilt? (oh yeah, admissions of guilt don't count).

Too bad you don't want to know more information before passing judgement. The legal system you work in does not function that way.seacoaster wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 1:38 pmHah! I'm plenty calm. Did Robertson "storm the Capitol" ? Did Robertson hurt any cops ? Did MDLF76's brother-in-law ?
Re: January 6, 2021: Insurrection or “normal tourist” visitation?
I'd like more info & evidence. Are the Jan 6 charges felony or misdemeanor ? Any allegations of Robertson acting violently ? What evidence do prosecutors have, beyond the photo ? What other evidence on conditions in that part of the Capitol at that time ? What would Robertson have encountered to get to that point ? Is he visible in other photos & videos ? Apparently, he was free on bail, awaiting trial, until the later gun charges.MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 1:42 pmbut what's your take?old salt wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 1:31 pmAs I said -- providing the background info on what Robertson allegedly did & what he claims, which was not included in the later CNN article, which said he "stormed the Capitol" in the headline. Indictments like this one are often and routinely superseeded when new evidence is discovered. Do you feel this way about all charged defendants in any kind of criminal activity? I don't recall your enlightened view during the summer of 2020. Perhaps you can cite evidence to the contrary in your past posts on the topic.
