flalax22 wrote: Sat Mar 27, 2021 8:40 pm Has anyone ever asked why Ross Blumenthal didn’t end up in a Blue Jays uniform? Dad is a Doctor at the school, rabid supporter and booster and his son is an absolute wall for Drexel. Seems like pretty serious miss on recruiting.
He's 43% this year, was 47% last year and 48% the year before that against schedules far easier than ours...God knows we've struggled in goal lately but I'm not sure there was a serious miss there.

The recruit we got coming in next year, Webb, local kid at Loyola-Blakefield whom 51 refers to as Sgt. Friday (which will be an amazing nickname for years to come), is the first "late bloomer"/relative unknown we've had at the position in quite some time. Perhaps he can reverse the trend.
I actually never looked at his stats. It just seems to be every time I watch Drexel play he seems to swing momentum with big saves. I haven’t seen that at JHU since Schneider got hot in 2015

All this goalie talk is just making me sad that the Greek God of Goalies is going to Brown (rather than Hop) - that wound is still fresh. And that kid is going to be awesome.

At this point, it really seems like it's Kirson or bust through 22. I'm (possibly unjustifiably) skeptical of both Marcille and Sgt. Friday.

Schneider made adjustments to his play in goal after a former goalie noticed a flaw with his play that season and contacted the staff who then worked on it

Small shakeup to the starting lineup: Williams back on attack, Degnon takes his spot on first midfield.

Looks like Grimes has been benched. He was in on a possession for epstein. offense really struggling again. 5 penn state turnovers and only 1 goal

No, he came on with the second midfield (w/ Baskin & McDermott).

Two nice assisted goals, but will someone cover #3?

-that's what I met. They've switched a few things up today. Williams at attack, second midfield of grimes/baskin/mcdermott. Zinn/martin are second ssdm unit.
-Penn state really opened the door for us early to pick up a strong lead and offense squandered an opportunity with too many empty possessions.
-We're in week 6, not sure why offseason is still an excuse on these broadcasts.
-Kneese seems to have a very good scouting report on our offense.
-Really like the penn state turf, but that's an ugly backdrop.

Outside shots not being saved is shades of Darby.

It’s beyond disappointing how little progress the Hop O has made more than halfway through the season.

Kneese is stoning those shooters,
not always the best shots,
but that’s the best I’ve seen from Kneese
in a while.

Can't expect to win with only 5 of 23 faceoffs and a goalie who saves precisely nothing above his knees.

Probably time to see some more shakeups to the lineup. #29 and #13 need more time at SSDM. #1 shouldn't be getting midfield runs over #20, #33, or #51. And wouldn't mind seeing if Marcille can show you anything in goal. Time for some more experimenting/tinkering with things to see what you've got in 2022 IMO.
