Actually back in my day they his waitlist thing and you could actually get in off it. I got that late acceptance letter from Brown around not quite 30yrs ago.

You what’s a surprisingly petty and low brow response to someone pointing out facts? See the post above. Petty and inferred which makes me smile even more reading it.

Also as I’ve shared in brown threads before had a good friend who caught Cte in service of brown while being an midfielder captain (Mike alberelli, he football and the fight we were in with he NJ devils because he looked like and drunkenly talks ish to former NHL d man Scott Gomez and defiantly caught a concussion there but numerous in college the way he tells it never complaint they only really diagnosed 1/5 then).

I have no beef with brown. But have always had issues with petty defensive sycophants.
I have to tell you - the way you write sometimes, makes it really difficult to even follow you.
I don’t get paid here. Unless you’re a client I’m unaware of.

classic Ivy League I'm better than you response lol. Hopefully you donate lots of $$ to the program for Daly's buyout. CU77 and I stated some justifiable opinions on "premier jobs". You didn't like that your narrative is not shared by others.

I consider Brown a mid-major, since the mid 1990's. 3 ncaa with Lars, his first with Nelson's seniors, 2 with the help of Kirwan's 2015/2016 What the heck is This!?!? offense.
1 Daly, with the Ivy's 1-standard-deviation-above-norm 2022 and Brown's 3 week win streak. Total three 1-and-dones, 1 FF (with a home quarterfinal game.)

All the Ivies are waypoint jobs historically. Yale may be a destination job; they're well on their way, but I think they need a few more FF visits soon for that to come true.
I don't care if the next coach views Brown as a stepping stone as long as he coaches and recruits well enough that the team does so well he gets great offers from great programs. It is what it is.

OMG - I’m sorry I brought up “premiere program” …….but I did state that the AD was “anticipating Brown to be” a premiere program……..not that it was one……. and I would hope that the AD would be striving to meet that goal…..more importantly she will be taking those actions that can hopefully lead to Brown being one…that’s enough for me….

Per the Xanders tweet:

I’ve heard it’s already down to two. One is a well established current HC at a program that has been to the tournament in the past few years. The other might be still coaching in the tournament. Will be interesting to see how long it takes for this to narrow to 1.

First one sounds like Polley or Torpey

So … Coach Ryan Polley or Coach … Kevin Cassese?

Still think Coach Benson should be in the mix, but it looks like they are considering candidates with many years of HC experience.

Maybe it won't hurt Cassese that he appears to have voluntarily walked away from a head coaching job to be a coordinator at an ACC, but I could see that profile giving some athletic departments pause.

lol? In Monte and a few good season but it’s not like they made any memorable mark in these appearances. Didn’t make it in 19 w a big OOC win and gaudy win % which was definitely their best season despite these two appearances.

And you really think the guy who can waive in anyone who can drool their signature on an application is going to hit the ground running at an IVY? He takes the Woodalls and semi pro Canadians who are 50/50 to graduate so
Even if he could adjust thats a couple year transition.

You said he hadn’t been to the tournament before and he’s been twice

Have no idea of reliability, but @College_Crosse is posting these names as the four candidates:

Princeton OC Jim Mitchell
North Carolina OC Jon Thompson
High Point HC Jon Torpey
Notre Dame OC Chris Wojcik

All have prior HC experience and ties to the Ivy League. Some have ties to Brown.

So, taking all these comments together along with the post from @College_Crosse, the two finalists would be Torpey and Wojcik.

Again, I have no independent verification of any of this. I’m just bored.

Very experienced and successful coach, but I’m a little surprised to see him on this list.

Wojcik makes me nervous given his record at Harvard...didn't do much w/lots of top recruiting classes...

Agreed. At a place like Harvard, it's even difficult to know how much credit to give the coaches for the (Inside Lacrosse anointed) top recruits: it's Harvard.

Thompson's D1 experience is this year at UNC and at Brown in the late Nelson/early Lars years.

Torpey' Brown connection is as an AC under Munro at Denver. Odds good JM had input if Torpey is really being considered. Or maybe Torpey contacted Brown.

The short bio of Mitchell I saw on the Princeton website doesn't have any obvious connection to the Bears. Same for Wojcik.
