Lots and lots and lots of trains. All near a RV park😄. Every 20 minutes and they toot  All carrying coal. Sat at bar (no tables) and two young guys are in ND training miner management in 3 mines on coal production and productivity. Have mines in AL as that fuels the steel production. Mentioned coal was dead and they laughed. Granted in industry conversation but both were PhD’s. Not defending orange but lots and lots of trains.

Brookie if you get this far in this response - now we are in lake country - beautiful. New side to MN in Garfield off 94. I am looking for the cat
Fun anecdote!!

The private power company is in the process of closing 10 coal power plants here in Virginia because coal can't compete with natural gas and tons of customers want renewables.

Coal is used in things other than power production, so coal won't die completely off, but coal plants are definitely on the way out at this time in history due to market pressure and environmental concerns. Trump isn't bringing back coal jobs, especially as automation has been the main thing gutting them.

Can there be any real doubt that the man is hiding something very unsavory in his finances?

DOJ Sides With Trump In Effort To Block House From Investigating His Finances
This gets a bit deep in the weeds. But it’s worth going there. Because it’s important. The President has been going into court in his personal capacity – i.e., with his own private lawyers – trying to knock down various House efforts to subpoena documents relative to his personal and business finances. His lawyers, particularly a guy named William Consovoy, have made a raft out of outlandish legal claims which, if taken at face value, mean the Congress has very little oversight or investigative powers at all.

Those are the President’s personal attorneys. They work directly for him as an individual. They have no responsibilities to the office of the President or the US government in general. So making maximal claims isn’t terribly surprising and of course it’s Trump. Of course, he’s going to do that.

But now the Department of Justice is entering these cases and to a great degree mimicking these arguments. And of course the Department of Justice represents the people and the constitution. (The White House Counsel’s Office represents the President in his official capacity.) What all of this amounts to is that the Department of Justice is now more or less openly operating as the President’s personal defender. That’s Bill Barr talking, the guy who Trump insider Matt Schlapp lauded back in February as Trump’s first “fully operational confirmed Attorney General.”

From perspective this isn’t terribly surprising. We’ve seen Barr’s corrupt management of the DOJ in his handling of the Mueller probe, his efforts to fan various “Deep State” conspiracy theories ginned up by the President’s supporters. But this is another major example of it.

Banks provide some documents on Trump-Russian financial links. You know, the ones he said he didn’t have.

Thankfully, they have pulled their marketing rollout and are reconsidering the opening in late September. I don’t know about you but I avoid these sorts of films, for the most part.

Watched an interesting film last night on Netflix, Red Sea Diving School. Violence was gruesome but necessary to tell the truth of the story, not for a gratuitous adrenaline rush.

We have intelligent law enforcement types scouring all politicians unsavory finances, not just Trump. Right?

Or, Trump invented political graft all by himself?

Trump has, single-handedly, taken "political graft" to new depths...there can be no denying it.

Whataboutism is weak cover for his guilt.

DOPUS can't have it both ways. The quote below is spot on....
If you believe that constructive leadership can elevate, it follows that irresponsible leadership can debase. Particularly in a democracy, political rhetoric has high stakes. A politician can either side with the angels or unleash the beast.

Now a number of believable press reports are coming out about what really went on in the supposed "lovely" meeting Trump had with victims in the Dayton and San Antonio hospitals, that the press was not allowed to cover. Victims refusing to meet with him or talk with him. OD spin machine just painting it as a "lovely" meeting. Some WH staff leaking.

Same old same old.
No surprise.

Seriously? Trump’s a jagoff Democrat who we would never take seriously. He hijacked the GOP with racism and machismo and now you own him. And he owns your party.

Never heard of him. Checked his playing history, he never played in Baltimore. I don't know what his story is, but reading his wiki he seems to think he is some type of big time businessman. No indication that he has ever met or knows Cummings. Sounds to me like a clown trying to associate himself with Trump. Dirt bags of a feather flock together.

As for Cummings, he is my congressman. I live in his district. You know the one that is rat and drug infested where no human should be made to live.  I am still trying to find the rats, we get a field mouse or two who decides to move in every couple years, in from the woods on the property. Rumors of a Coywolf sighting and a missing pet in the neighborhood but no drugs as far as I can tell. Most of the humans in the neighborhood seem to feel pretty good about living in the community. We were surprised when Orange Duce informed us of how bad we had it.

Has it occurred to you yet that Trump doesn't mean/believe one single word out of his own mouth------yet he says things simply because he knows his supporters likes it when he says them?

In other words, the man could easily have not one single racist bone in his body, yet he told black Congressmwomen to "go back to where you came from", a blatantly racist statement by any measurement, because he knew his supporters would like that he said that?
