It seems like there are two impact players still out there- Izzy Rohr (D) and Jenika Cuocco (G). Any info or rumors where they are going ? It seems like Rohr would a great fit at BC and Cuocco would a great fit at NU or UNC.
COVID years are done. Portal is dried up and no longer has players with extra eligibility. The portal now consists of players who wanted/were asked to leave current school.
Idk. I think the portal will still be used tremendously the next few years for kids who wants out. With teams stacking their prospects, I feel these kids are all gonna want to play down the line. With these teams grabbing so many top prospects, it can’t physically happen. It will trickle down. Just what I think.
Not to mention we have now entered the era of committment flips in women's lacrosse recruiting. transfers will lead to flips due to changing rosters. and flips will result to transfers due to competition. The ying and yang of chaos

Valid points, but depending on what happens with roster limits, that may slow it down a bit. Definitely curious to see what happens there.

Maybe not the quantity of AA players seen in the past in this year portal, but I don't agree the portal dried up at least for this year – at least not at the top of the food chain. Northwestern and UNC appear to have added players that should help them. Izzy Rohr still seems to a TBD that will have an impact. (would it be out of the realm of possibility if an Emma Ward like graduate player still decides to come back before the 2025 season starts?)

And don’t sell short what Clemson has done in the portal (again). They picked up 5 graduates who were starters on prior team. A couple of those from Ivy league who may have more than just 1 year left. Clemson is already returning 4 of their top 6 scores –(these 4 were all freshman last year.) In fact they had 8 FR/SO play in 11 or more games last year. They certainly added experienced upperclassmen to the mix in this years portal which should help them continue their climb up the food chain

I guess my point is for the top destination schools, the portal was still active and appears to be impactful.

Not sure I understand this one. Do the terps really need goalie depth? A 40% save percentage in a bad conference. Had to be better goalie options out there.

I'd expect Suriano to start for Maryland after redshirting this past year, as she was a highly-touted recruit. But before this addition the most experienced goalie on the roster was Carly Peterson, who has played 25 minutes in her career. Smith has started the last two years and it never hurts to have someone with experience at a position where they basically have none.

Fair point, but my point is that there were prob better goalie options out there. But to be fair, goalie stats on horrible teams tend to be meaningless due to tons of 1 on 1 looks.

We were at Northwestern’s camp today with my daughter and Jaylen Rosga was working there. Makes it seem she is going there but haven’t seen anything.

Looks like Butler defender Caroline Ross is headed to Maryland as well. Has 2 years of eligibility left and grew up literally right down the road from campus. Not the school I'd expect the Terps to be grabbing transfers from, but I'm sure there's a reason.

Depends on how much she wants to play.

Do you think she plays ahead of any of the following?

- Samantha Smith
- Madison Smith
- Madison Taylor
- Noel Cumberland
- Taylor Lapointe
- Emerson Bohlig
- Niki Miles
- Lucy Munro

and this doesn't include incoming freshman Rudolph, Stroh or Mahoney.

That’s it right there. I’ve tried. I just can’t wrap myself around why girls who have played their whole lives, love the game, and are willing to go not get meaningful minutes on a team that can play one or two more games than everybody else. I get it. National title is awesome, but so is actually playing. And yes. I understand some kids don’t care, I’m just saying, I can’t see it.

NU loses 8 (EIGHT) Starters plus at least 3 big contributors due to graduation. Very few freshmen start or even play their 1st year for KAH.

LOTs of opportunity for playing time.

Lots of girls entering bust territory- Locasio, Munro, weiner, Lapointe, etc. Might as well grab as many as you can and hope someone surprises. I do know that KAH really like Rosga in recruiting and was not happy she didn’t get her.

I have to think rosga will be moved to defense. Fits the mold of a faster defender that amonte likes. Can’t see her getting anywhere near the draw circle or settled play O

I see it more like relax. Rosters change every year and new openings are created every year. Tough to think it's easier to play at NU with those attackers and middies than MD. Can she walk in and play defense for KAH?? Nothing wrong with betting on yourself to get playing time, just not sure if it will work for her. Being closer to home, NU degree and possible natty are great reasons to go there and I'm sure she had other options.

The reason I mentioned defense is that it was NU's weakness last year and there are clearly some open spots. At one point, they tried to move middie Cumberland there. (spoiler alert: It didn't go well).
