'25 recruit Jacob Janke was the OJLL Rookie of the year for 2024. He seized the opportunity after 2 of his teammates were traded before the OJLL playoffs and ran with it. Seems like the Canada corridor is open again. We have Peterkin, Race, Cordingley and Broughton on the team now. I expect Coach will be taking some trips across the border.

Don’t forget Liam Matthews and Adam Bland as well .

I like the two this year but janke appears even better. With him and the MD middie 4 start that class is top heavy.

Still hope im proven correct and hate to project on FR but man I still am thinking Brighton will be a cross between one of our best SSDMs and our athletic o mids that will add movement and pace.

Happy to be back here in the forum!

From what I understand Greene is not playing anymore and Ward has officially graduated. Looking forward to alumni game, alums will be strong but shouldn’t worry too much! Not playing Cuse is concerning history wise, but schedule is still strong. Looking forward to a good game today and a good season.

Hip Hobart!

Interesting first podcast of the 2025 season. Seems like we have a lot to be excited for as the junior class comes into their own. Look for Max Snellenberg and Elhanan Wilson to really step into leadership positions.

As we go into the alumni weekend, I also look forward to seeing which of our alums still have it. Stumbled upon this old video of our own John Herlihy. What a player! Still wonder what that 2019 team could have accomplished.

Wow!! That really sucks!! I was hoping he would've taken over as our X attackman.

Credit to the coaches it sounds like they are taking a different approach to this year's fall ball vs last year. Much less militaristic from the sounds of it. 4 days per week instead of 6.

I wouldn't say the transfers are part of a big turn to the portal. I think the guys coming in are guys who are transferring in for legit reasons ... better fit on team, better fit with school, etc... It's one thing to accept transfers, but it's totally different to harvest the portal like a meat market.
NIL will not be a factor at Hobart. Pay at HWS is 85% of peer schools, plus there's been a small in coming class until recently. There just won't be $$$ for it.

Did the lax alumni spur the football team to a big win today??!! Victories over the Bombers are few and far between, congrats!

That is a big change. Coach has always been on the kick of being the dog and therefore need to outwork and outcondition every team. But reality is that’s hard to do with everyone injured in the fall. And we have been banged up for the last 5 years so good for the players to get at least a little breathe from previous falls.

It was good to see that the coaches may have evaluated their approach and are making some changes.

The injuries have been an issue since the Kerwick era…not sure the cause, but every year seems to bring the injury bug..

Checks the stats, it surely wasn’t Kevin’s game plan. But I’ll take an ugly win all day and night. QB was pulled for backup and first down were like 23-9 Ithaca.

Ithaca sucks, Union suck and RPI, well they have a pool in eav that people can watch swimmers underneath so don’t need to say anymore about them. Thinking of a bag of body parts, one specific one, that those programs can feast on.

Singed Football Mgt.

That is all we can hope for. The “right” way is always subject to opinion. But when you look at results and seek feedback, it can help to steer us back on course. My experience personally is that we have the coaching talent, there is no question. But that is 1/3 of the equation, we need to have these men really bought into the system which is tough to do when they are dealing with concussions and similar injuries. Roll Bart!

I was at the game. The quarterback was not pulled. He went out with a shoulder injury. The only bone-headed thing the coach did was to not just run the ball with a little under two minutes left in the first half and the team up 10-0. Got greedy, threw a pass that was intercepted, which then led to Ithaca's only touchdown. Ithaca basically did not make the plays they needed to and we did. Rightfully earned victory. Felt kind of like a lacrosse victory over Syracuse.

Anyone see the alumni game? Score? Who looked good (I know it's fall ball/alumni game) Heard one of the varsity D men went down with an injury late in the game. No idea of how serious the injury is. TIA

Galiani can give him pointers on recovery. I was hoping he was going to make the sophomore jump.

Galvanized can't give pointers yet. He is still on the sidelines. Rubina might be meniscus, pcl, or acl. The first two can be played through.
Alums didn't offer too much resistance. Hard to say who played well. Numbers all mixed up.

Well I got that firm a friend of Ted baker who writes a blog for the last fifteen years in Hobart football. Talk to him because anyone who’s watched Jonny Columbi the last year and a half understands he’s basically the same as Krewson I wouldn’t get too hyped about games against very weak Moravian and keystone (4th yr o program). This team can’t win on offense. Ithaca offense sucks, RPI is trash and Union just lost to SLU. The LL is offense absent this year. Hobart will
Win the LL and get a low seed because Randy mac lost the week after we lost to them. And isn’t ranked anymore. If we get lucky due to 500mi travel consideration we may get a weak New England opponent and skate by to rd two but more likely get smoked by Endicott or Cortland in Rd 1.

I also know Kevin and played with him his one year of playing football and stayed close through the 2000s into mid last decade and if you don’t think he’s tearing down what Coach Cragg built you definitely don’t know what’s going on there respectfully.
