Looks like Mayer got the start for Ohio State. Had 2 goals. Good for him.

What happened today. Heard York and the community college were close. Did York sit starters?

Heard York and the community college were close.
I was able to catch the first half. Harford is the defending NJCAA National Champion and a number of their players have gone on to great programs including several D1 programs so I wasn't completely shocked this was more competitive. After watching some of the scrimmage with Wagner last week, Harford could definitely have beaten them.

I don't know much about who was playing other than Facciponti took (and won) most of the 1st half face offs. York seemed to have the edge for time of possession for the first half and HCC's goalie made a lot of saves. A few of them were spectacular but for the most part I thought the York shots were right at him. Based on that you could make the argument that York should have been up by more and maybe so but on the other side, HCC committed a lot of unforced turnovers that allowed York to have those extra possessions.

As I said, I had to leave at half. Anybody catch the whole game?

York certainly jumps into the deep end of the pool with this early schedule. What a realistic record after the first 5 games?

Brutal opening 2-3. The swing contest could be W&L , I’m taking W&L in a squeaker

2-3 but if one of those wins is vs the Gulls your gonna feel a whole lot better about that record

I think 3-2 is every bit as realistic as 2-3, so as a homer, put me down for that. :D

Overly optimistic, 4-1

York should be favored in first 3. And will be favored to beat RIT if they do win the first 3

Based on last year, on the road, 1 goal loss to w&L and 1 goal loss to RIT. Up by 3 in both games. I can see York finishing this year.

For York to beat SU, they will need to slow the game down, play a mistake free game. Need the fogo and goalie to have their best game. And hope for SU to get frustrated.

Anything less than 3-2 would be a disappointment.

York should be NCAA tournament ready by the time conference ends. Based on being ranked #11 and from Inside lacrosse, the first 9 games goes like this: #15 home, #7 home, Top 30 team away, #4 home, #1 returning champion home, #16 home, #5 home, Top 35 away, #18 away, #9 away.

I am very optimistic of new faces and a fun competitive start to shape the team up. RIT and Salisbury would be huge program wins, but I think games like W&L, Dickinson, or RPI matter more in getting confidence high.

Great listen on the new IL DIII podcast, where both Coach Childs and Coach Dalgliesh (RPI) are interviewed leading up to their game this Saturday.

Every DIII HC has dozens of options to schedule a lower tier opponent. I love the gumption it takes to start a season with a real one.

I’m changing my vote perhaps 1-4 unless they get to work in the 4th . This not anywhere near what I was expecting
